Disputable age and other details[edit]

This article gives a birthdate in 1922 (when Pakistan was then part of undivided British India) making him 95 years old, given both in the infobox and introductory paragraph. I am a little suspicious of the veracity. In the body of the article there appears nothing dateable on his life pre 1970s, and he is also stated to be an alumnus of the University of Faisalabad - whose wiki article indicates it was not founded until after 2000. A Daily Telegraph report about the blocking of his proposed British peerage through an intervention by HMRC investigating his tax affairs describes him as a then '58-year-old' (in 2010), ie a birthdate in 1951/1952 which seems more believable. [1] The birthdate currently given indicates he entered our Parliament at age 74, was 82 at his last UK General Election in 2005 and 88 when he stepped down in 2010, whereas the 2010 Telegraph article's figure would indicate he was respectively 45/46 in 1997 and 54/55 in 2005. In the pictures used he looks remarkably well preserved, baldness apart. What do reference works like Who's Who or Dod Parliamentary Companion give as his birthdate?Cloptonson (talk) 21:47, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I discover his own Facebook page gives his birthdate as 22 August 1952. In light of this I will correct the birth year.Cloptonson (talk) 22:40, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
