Is this serious ?[edit]

I've seen the sources quoted in the notes, But has anybody seriously checked those sources for reliability to vouch that this thing can be presented as a factual historic piece of clothing rather than a legendary one? This looks a lot like the use of chastity belts by crusaders and the infamous jus primae noctis ... horror stories to make the past look more barbaric than they actually were. --Svartalf (talk) 01:24, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
