No queen endgame literature?[edit]

I have a question. Is it that there are actually no books written on queen endgames? If it is the case, I seriously hope someone writes one soon. If not, please add some, as many (myself included) are stuck in these endings and cannot find any mainstream books on these "royal finishes". Thanks. 184.147.198.36 (talk) 00:24, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is Queen and Pawn Endings by Yuri Averbach, which has been out of print for decades. It (like the other books of this series) were compiled into the Comprehensive Chess Endgames series decades ago (one of the best!). I'm pretty sure that there is a volume of Encyclopedia of Chess Endings, but these have analysis only, no words.

And queen endings are covered in several general books, like Basic Chess Endings. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 01:16, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clarification. It still is disheartening that amid all these (often conflicting) opening books giving lines that explode in popularity one day and are nonexistent the next, there doesn't seem to be a single (somewhat known) recent book focusing solely on queen endings... It's not like anything's holding people back from writing one. 184.147.198.36 (talk) 02:13, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
