Fair use rationale for Image:Chevrolet citation x11.png[edit]

Image:Chevrolet citation x11.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Assembly sites?[edit]

Pretty sure they Citation was also assembled at GM's Tarrytown Assembly plant, once known as building the worst-quality cars in GM's lineup. Guess I need to find a cite. --plaws (talk) 17:38, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most were assembled in Oklahoma city. Some were assembled in Canada. My 1980 says: "Made in Canada" all over it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.162.46.94 (talk) 12:36, 23 February 2012 (UTC) 67.1.190.18 (talk) 02:17, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Volkswagen Dasher ?[edit]

This VW was never sold in North America under this name. It was called Passat. And during the availability of the Citation (1980-1985), the Passat was not bord yet in North America. There were Jetta and Golf/Rabbit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.162.160.52 (talk) 18:15, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but that is incorrect. The Passat was sold in North America as the Dasher and Quantum during the Citation's model run. ObtuseAngle (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy?[edit]

"Sales of the latter spiked following the Arab oil embargo of 1973 and its resulting gasoline shortages." - Is there any citation for this?-Dan Albert

I'm not sure all of the information here is legit... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.235.179.9 (talk) 19:14, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot of garbage here. My 1980 Citation, steering rack on firewall, handles Great. The "horrendous" adjective removed, replaced by "often noted". There is no link to this, it is just OR, and exaggerated.

And this makes no sense: "Handling in the 1982 model was improved by relocating the steering rack from the firewall to the engine/front suspension subframe. This prevented subframe movement from affecting steering." "prevented subframe movement from affecting steering"? This would Exaggerate subframe movement affecting steering. The steering rack on the firewall is the stablest place to put it. All cars have the rack, the gear, on the unibody. The Lower A arms, struts, etc, are also attached to the unibody--so, any torque reaction, etc, could be immediately felt and compensated by the steering gear. To mount it on the separate sub frame would allow engine torques on shifting, deceleration, acceleration, to affect steering--Insane. Again, my 1980 handles Great, S/R on firewall. If Citations so "bad". why are there clubs devoted to them? chevycitationsforever@yahoogroups.com 67.1.173.46 (talk) 13:45, 23 August 2016 (UTC)67.1.190.18 (talk) 02:15, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing[edit]

Someone wikilinked 4-cylinder engine to Straight Outta Compton (film) which has nothing to do with automotive articles, so I reverted his/her edit back to Straight-4. Also, his/her edit summary looked like a WP:PA, so in my edit summary, I said for the user to take their abusive language elsewhere.--Kevjgav (talk) 08:48, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Citation car that needs more citations[edit]

The article literally has a template message that says that it needs more citations and the car is called Citation. XDDDDDDDMultillionIsARealNumber (talk) 21:48, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
