Notability[edit]

He's the author of several books, a publisher, and a former president of a public policy group. What more do you need? patsw (talk) 02:35, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's not what makes a person notable. Millions of people write books. There's nothing in this article that says anything anyone wants to know about him. Having his name at Rockford Institute is about the limit of his apparent notability. See Wikipedia:Notability#General_notability_guideline One approach to good biography is for an independent person to conduct and publish a personal interview with him. That allows personal information to be made public. Tom Ruen (talk) 09:15, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Here's one source that could be used to expand this biography [1], and another [2]. Tom Ruen (talk) 09:30, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My claim is that article already establishes Chilton Williamson, Jr. as notable. If your intent here is to improve Wikipedia, why don't you improve the article as you see it needs improvement. Why extort editing efforts from me by the threat to have the article deleted? Is this what Wikipedia has come to in 2020? patsw (talk) 13:03, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen dozens of bio articles being deleted on notability, so I reject any trivial claim you've proved anything at all. Tom Ruen (talk) 16:28, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Tomruen: The template states "If this template is removed, do not replace it." This is to allow editors to "object to deletion for any reason". Thank you for the two links! I used them to expand the article. Feel free to help out further. --Bensin (talk) 16:26, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Additions are appreciated. Does he have a verifiable birthday anywhere? Tom Ruen (talk) 16:29, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Great! I have not searched for a birth year, so the article is in the category "Year of birth missing (living people)" until a reliable source is found. --Bensin (talk) 22:19, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
