Craig Owens Overdose[edit]

Does anyone know anything about this. Apparently it happenend yesterday morning, Craig Owen overdosed and was admitted today to a mental facility. It hasnt been said what led to this but theres been talk that he takes vicodin? This was posted by absolutepunk.net that Craig himself posted an apology that was later deleted on their website. [1]

-A post on Craig Owens (Chiodos) website was recently removed, it originally read as follows.-

"From the Postso, after an attempted overdose early yesterday morning, i found myself awake in the emergency room around 8 - 12 hours later.

however, don’t worry about me, i’m fine. i am being checked into a mental clinic beginning tomorrow at 8 am.

i’d like to apologize to everyone at Power Chord Academy, for me not being able to make it to speak to all of the kids tomorrow in Chicago. i promise to make it up, the best that i can and hopefully will be able to reschedule the entire event.

wish me luck, and let’s hope that i learn from this, and that i am able get out very soon.

craig."

I mean no disrespect at all by this, i am just a concerned fan as well--Mylittlelockedroom (talk) 20:33, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability concerns[edit]

Are we sure that this band is well-known enough for a Wikipedia article? What part of WP:MUSIC do they qualify under? --Elonka 19:51, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a ton of references for notability. Chubbles1212 23:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm yeah they are notable enough... how about the fact that they are touring in warped tour and have shows with other large bands... plus they have some 200,000 fans on myspace.... believe me it qaulifies. - Gellister

They play on one of largest and most respected indie labels. They are aslo notable under part three of WP:MUSIC "Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country, reported in reliable sources." Chidos has been touring the United States in support of "All's Well That End's Well" for 2-3 years now. Nickvsshark 21:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The notability concern has passed. It's quite clear that the entry merits inclusion. Chubbles 22:10, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

I tagged one section for neutrality, though perhaps the whole article could use a bit of cleaning up. Seems like at least the Concert section was written by a band member or close friend/fan. ~~ Meeples (talk)(email) 02:06, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the concert section should be deleted, because not everyone of their concerts are the same. So it doesn't make sense to put one type of concert without putting out the rest. Tinkleheimer 05:19, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IT'S JUST A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THEY DO IN CONCERT... every band doesn't have the same show twice but when we mention the concerts there are certain elements that stick out. - gellister

Fair use rationale for Image:Chiodos thce.jpg[edit]

Image:Chiodos thce.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Releases[edit]

Who keeps putting random songs on the singles list? "The Undertakers..." was not on "Alls Well...", and whats up with putting three singles at once? It's like it changes every week! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arscey (talkcontribs) 19:16, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

pronunciation again[edit]

Here we have a source claiming to have heard chee-OH-doze rather than -dose on TV. Does anyone know which is used? The interview source we have now claims -dose, but that may be an error. kwami (talk) 18:37, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as it's yahoo answers and the answerer in question provides no links, it's unverifiable and shouldn't be trusted. Cailunetrawr 02:11, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems the most logical way to settle this is to watch an interview from the band and see how they pronounce it. They pronounce it chee-OH-dose. Miguel Chavez (talk) 04:41, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

craig owens[edit]

should he have his own article? he's in three different bands and pretty notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zackurrry (talkcontribs) 23:55, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah and he committed suicide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.167.200.222 (talk) 22:43, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lindsy Quit Lollygagging[edit]

Isn't that a song by Chiodos? Mr. GreenHit Me UpUserboxes 18:10, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but as for album I'm not sure. ¤IrønCrøw¤ (Speak to Me) 00:42, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Active[edit]

The artist infobox currently says 2001-2008, this implies that they are no longer active, unless new information points to this being the case (which is higly unlikely as they are currently on tour) for now I will change it to 2001-present. Addug (talk) 15:20, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Austin Carlile[edit]

He's not leaving his crappy band, people can stop adding him to the member list.

"wikapedia and strikgently.com lie. i wouldnt leave Of Mice & Men for Chiodos or any other band in the world <3"—Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.5.99.113 (talkcontribs) 28 September 2009 18:47 (UTC)

Agreed. Whenever something major happens to a sort-of-not-really unknown band like these with a devoted fan following, the Wikipedia article is bound to get lots of "I think he's going to be the new vocalist so let's add him to current members mk" contributions. Please also do not add Michael Catalano, or anyone for that matter, without adding a reliable source that confirms it. talkingbirds 20:09, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much anything from Strike Gently can be discounted as not true anyway.

New Singer[edit]
