Hara 1968 is the only complete genus monograph I'm aware of. It segregates C. merrilliana from C. chinensis. However, in the Flora of China treatment, C. merrilliana was shown as a synonym.

Some other names I found in this genus on the International Plant Names Index were C. koreana (subsumed into C. japonica by Hara), C. lutea (synonomy with C. japonica by Hara), and C. sparsa (synonomy with C. koidzumiana by Hara). DDennisM (talk) 23:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
