Murder suspect[edit]

I see my addition of a hatnote pointing to Murder of Joanna Yeates has been removed, with the comment "the murder suspect is not notable." I agree with the comment - I'm not proposing that the other Chris Jefferies gets his own article, even if he's convicted. However, lots of people are going to be looking for "Chris Jefferies", and they'll end up here. I think we should direct them to the article they need. I won't restore the hatnote immediately, but I still believe it should be there. Tevildo (talk) 13:36, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See Talk:Murder_of_Joanna_Yeates#Chris Jefferies. I am open to pursuasion but think we shouldn't be directing people looking for "Chris Jefferies" to Murder of Joanna Yeates. I assume if they end up here they will then search for Murder of Joanna Yeates and find what they want. --Pontificalibus (talk) 13:41, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that an article specifically about the ex-teacher would fail WP:PERP, and all details about him should be confined to the Joanna Yeates article. However, he's the "Christopher Jefferies" that's in the news at the moment. If the hatnote is unacceptable, I'd like to propose changing Christopher Jefferies from its current status as a redirect here to a dab page between this article and the Joanna Yeates article. I took this to the BLP noticeboard for further input. --Pontificalibus (talk) 14:02, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
