Page name[edit]

In my opinion, the Child's Play entry was for the first movie. This "Charles Lee Ray" topic explains much of Chucky's history. So, I'd vote to keep this page the way it is.

Child's Play 3[edit]

Is it just me or is the description for Child's Play 3 absent from this article? Jan Panda (talk) 03:56, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brad Dourif[edit]

Did Brad Dourif act as Charles Lee Ray before he was switched to the doll? Scorpionman 00:22, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes he did. --64.231.81.105 08:05, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am back...been to a Tampa Bay Buc football game, up to Minnesota on SunCountry Airlines...been fishing in the Keys and just hanging out...pic are available!

Physical description, please?[edit]

Can someone please edit the introduction to add a physical description of Chucky? For example, how big is he? (I can't tell from the picture.) Does the doll always have the scars? etc.

(Remember also that visually impaired readers may want to know what he looks like too. This topic is too important to deny access to the blind!)

—Steven G. Johnson 02:26, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chucky is 2'0 tall. I have The Bride of Chucky and there was some exclusive footage at the end and there was a part where they said he was 2'0. As for the scars, he hasn't always had them. In Child's Play 3, he was chopped into bits by a fan and in Bride of Chucky, he got stitched back up by Tiffany. But, if you want more of a physical description, try the Good Guy Doll article. 13jason13voorhees13 21:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chucky's birthday[edit]

I don't think Chucky was born in 1950 if it was he would have been 48 when Glen was born. -- Metal 17:46, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please answer it has been almost two months -- Metal 15:52, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where are the sources saying that he was born on January 24, 1950. -- Metal 14:45, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That date of birth is for Charles Lee Ray. Notice that it also says he "died" in 1988, on the exact date Child's Play hit theatres. The article is suggesting that Charles Lee Ray and "Chucky" should be considered seperate entities, which makes sense as Chucky is fundamentally immortal, Charles' isn't. Seph Belmont 04:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

chucky's birthdate matches brad dourif same birthdate

He would of been 48 but sence he put his soul into the doll he wasn't human. he stopped getting older. so lets say if he was still human he would of been 48. By Chucky 88

it dose not make any difference any way how old he is. men can precede at any age (intill there dye) women can't —Preceding unsigned comment added by 19oo19 (talkcontribs) 13:48, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tiffany[edit]

I think Tiffany should be a seperate article. -- Metal 18:01, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again can someone please answer it's been almost two months. -- Metal 15:54, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to start a new wikipedia entry on the above-mentioned subject using a wiki user account. Sasha 04:06, 27 September 2006 (UTC) i think she should have her own movie with glen — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chance.a (talkcontribs) 02:01, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Lee Ray's Death[edit]

In the article it makes mention that it's unclear if Charles Lee Ray was killed by the gunshot wounds or the lightning bolt. In a way he didn't die, if his soul transfered to the doll, as his original body would just remain lifeless. Not to mention even if dying was even possible in this scenerio, the lightning bolt didn't cause any burn or scaring on either Ray or the doll. They appeared as if nothing had happened, muchless a lightning strike.

Body without soul is not life. So he never died. Seph Belmont 04:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Charles' Race[edit]

In the box to the right, it has Chucky's picture, but Charles' info (Born 1950, Dead 1988). But then it says Charles' is caucasian, which isn't true; Brad Dourif is austrian. Chucky technically doesn't have a race, as he's a doll. Seph Belmont 05:02, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What Brad Dourif is and what Charles Lee Ray is are not the same thing. Actors generally play people of different backgrounds. Secondly, the doll would still be caucasian, because it's modeled after a caucasian. Bignole 11:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hes a doll yes, but he has white features. He has ginger hair, white skin and blue eyes. He is white Rateb4isik (talk) 17:00, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I thought Caucasian was just a posh way of saying "white"?

(shakes his head in dismay..) Yes, Caucasian is the same as white. Or in this case, Caucasian would work better than Austrian.
It's the difference between saying Jackie Chan is of oriental descent, instead of specifing his exact country of origin. JimmmyThePiep 20:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Caucasian means "from the Caucasus mountains", and I doubt Chucky is Armenian or Georgian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.245.178.144 (talk) 16:26, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not all black people are African. Or American. But we still use 'African-American'. In posh it's Caucasian, but he's white to normal people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.207.99 (talk) 21:55, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article isn't very clean[edit]

Some parts are too vague and other parts are too specific. Can I go about cleaning it up a somewhat?JimmmyThePiep 20:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Be bold my friend. But may I point you to "writing about fiction" and a couple articles: Jabba the Hutt, Padme Amidala, and Palpatine. I don't know how familiar you are with writing about fictional characters, but these three are the only film fictional characters that have reached FA status, so they are a good template for others.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:19, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

deletia[edit]

"Chucky will appear as one of the icons along with Jigsaw from the Saw films and The Wolfman for 2009's Halloween Horror Nights 19."

A little dated, don't ya think? I'd delete it, but if I started deleting cruft from this article, I don't think I could stop. Bustter (talk) 07:10, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Difference in genres[edit]

Child's Play 1-3 were considered horror.

Bride & Seed are considered comedy. I think that needs to be mentioned. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xxravenxx (talkcontribs) 17:36, 8 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Go mention it on the film series articles. This article is about the character. What the films are is irrelevant. Unless you have a reliable source that dictates changes in the characteristics of this fictional character then you cannot add it.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 17:41, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're kidding, right? This article is a total shitfest, how can it matter whether anyone adds to or deletes some of the shit? Bustter (talk) 13:18, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Chuckydoll.jpg[edit]

Image:Chuckydoll.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. WCW[edit]

I remember around the time of Bride of Chucky that the doll appeared on an episode of WCW Monday Nitro...does anyone else remember this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.124.4.220 (talk) 03:29, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed opinion[edit]

I altered:

"One stormy night, Chucky's girlfriend Tiffany finds the remains of the doll. After calmly slitting the throat of the cop she bribed to steal his remains out of the evidence room,Which in the film has freddy kreugars sweater hat and glove as well as jasons ski mask a machetty hanging up in full view of the camera leadin this writer to believe there shall be cross overs in future much like the film freddy Vs. Jason.Upon retreaving the doll parts Tiffany returns to her trailer and sews Chucky back together."

... under "Bride of Chucky" to:

"One stormy night, Chucky's girlfriend Tiffany finds the remains of the doll. After calmly slitting the throat of the cop she bribed to steal his remains out of the evidence room (which also contains items which appear to be Freddy Kreuger's sweater, hat and glove as well as Jason Voorhees' hockey mask and machete and Michael Myers William Shatner mask), Tiffany returns to her trailer and sews Chucky back together."

... to remove the opinion and clean up the spelling and grammar (hope I haven't missed anything). I think I'd quite enjoy some sort of black comedy "Horror All-Stars" movie, but though I don't do much editing, I'm pretty sure opinions aren't supposed to be part of these articles.

Yeah that absolutely shouldn't be there. That was a very good idea. There are a lot more of things not as obvious throughout that still need to be deleted as well. Cleanelephant (talk) 05:12, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hellraiser[edit]

When Chucky kills Warren with the trap Tiffany and him set up(nails in the face, sprung from the window),Chucky clearly says "Now why does that look so familiar?" He is most likely talking about Pinhead from the Hellraiser series. Since we added references to Halloween, Nightmare and Friday, shouldn't we do the same for Hellraiser?

We should man and also in 'Bride of Chucky' Chucky say's his story would take at least 3 to 4 sequels to explain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Addistheman (talkcontribs) 22:52, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Abusive father?[edit]

I don't recall ever reading or hearing anything to verify that Chucky had an abusive father....or anything about his past, really. Are there sources to verify this?

Not that I know of, could you find some? JuggaloDan2013 (talk) 01:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The informartion about Chuckys past, youth and parents is false. In the Childs Play Movies theres no information about his parents and his youth.

Rewrite[edit]

This article is poorly written/developed, and sourced. It will need to be rewritten entirely in a more encyclopedic tone. The appearances section will need to have each of the character's appearances shortened significantly with only the bare minimum details for each one. Information on the character's concept and development, and legacy also needs to be added to the article as well. All information should include proper citations for its information. This article has a lot of work that needs to be done to it before it should be considered a good article. Hopefully the right person comes along and gives the article the attention it needs.--Paleface Jack (talk) 20:25, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more sections and/or adjustment to current ones[edit]

The page could use more content other than the appearances and development sections which are for the most part lacking in content, only listing off a brief synopsis for each installment or short explanations for how the doll was conceptualized. The backstory section was a recent addition but it lacks an encyclopedic tone and isn't necessarily relevant to the character overall. Sections breaking down the characterization and influence on pop culture, among other things, would improve the page greatly. AshySlashy (talk) 10:29, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
