Article's name[edit]

Shouldn't the article be named Church of Santa Cruz de Cangas de Onís as it's about a church, not the saint? Also note, the es wiki article is named "Iglesia de la Santa Cruz (Cangas de Onís)" --Rosiestep (talk) 22:06, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Saint? Srnec (talk) 23:24, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Santa"/"Santo"/"Sant"/"San" translate to "Saint", right? --Rosiestep (talk) 15:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My recommendation would be to rename the Asturian church articles that are missing the word "church" to follow the naming convention of these Asturian church articles: Church of San Juan Apóstol y Evangelista, Santianes de Pravia, Church of San Pedro de Nora, Church of San Salvador de Priesca, Church of San Salvador de Valdediós, Church of San Tirso, Oviedo, Church of Santa María de Bendones, Church of Santiago de Gobiendes, Church of Santo Adriano de Tuñón. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"Santa Cruz" means "Holy Cross". I won't oppose a move for consistency. Srnec (talk) 18:18, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am in favour of consistency too, and have actioned the name change to "Church of...".--Thoughtfortheday (talk) 14:30, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

As regards this particular church, we also need a merger, as English WP has a page Iglesia de la Santa Cruz (Cangas de Onís) (not a very good one). I propose to merge Iglesia de la Santa Cruz (Cangas de Onís) into Church of Santa Cruz de Cangas de Onís.--Thoughtfortheday (talk) 14:31, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
