Gwyneth Morgan memorial[edit]

Well into OR territory, but..

  • Cadw says the graveyard memorial, which is clearly by someone more than your average monumental mason, was by Cecily Thomas. It also attributes the memorial in the church (with the Evan poem) to "her". Is it in fact by Cecil Thomas? KJP1 (talk) 10:33, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That looks about 10 100 times more likely. Can find no trace of a sculptress called Cecily. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:37, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comparing his Peter Pan statue, with the images here, [1] [YT to the rescue, again!], or here [2], is it just me who sees a similarity? KJP1 (talk) 10:42, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I must ask Harry, who wrote most of the Thomas article, whether there's a definitive list of works anywhere. KJP1 (talk) 10:46, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@KJP1 I didn't see one when I wrote the article but it was a bit of a rabbit hole I fell down while looking for other things and it was a few years ago. I might have a hunt over the weekend. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:23, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and if you email Cadw they'll probably fix their description. Historic England have been quite amenable to minor corrections in the past. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:25, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
