Plagiarism?

I saw an exhibition of fragments of Turkish films (or TV) that are plagiarized from Hollywood. One was some types dressed in Star Trek, including one with Mr Spock ears, mixed with copied Spaceship Enterprise shots. Another had Spider-Man and other costumed hero fighting in (apparently Greek) ruins. Is/was it significative the number of works incorporating unauthorized shots, plots or music from foreign productions?

Yes during the seventies that was popular, however the one you saw was a parody film, and wasn't denying it's Star Trek references, hence the name was Turist Omer at the Star Trek. :)

Article sectioning query

I split the article into sections, so I removed the notice asking for the article to be split into sections. I'm just wondering, am I authorized to do this or not? - Onur 20:10, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Setting criteria for lists of notables

I think that the lists of notables provided in this article require certain criteria before names are put in.

For instance many recent films are listed as notable here, partly because of the high number of ticket sales they reached. But that is quite illogical, because the turkish film market is in a tendency of growth, meaning for the coming years many films will be announced as the new record holders for ticket sales. So are we going to name each record-holder here, just because they were lucky enough to be shot in a period of growth?

One criteria could be internationally recognized awards such as those of Cannes, Berlin, Venice or the Academy Award for Foreign Films. And I think films nomitated by national oscar comittees should not be included unless they received an important prize somewhere else, or we have to include each nominated film, even if that film is -sorry for the word- crap. I don't think that a annually followed procedure should be a criteria to allow a film to make it into the list of notables.

So I think: -receiving an internationally recognized award -(For people) being a locally (even better if internationally) acknowledged veteran -being adressed as a major figure in several studies -having introduced new critical, conceptual, cinematographic or style elements

could be criteria to select the names to appear in the list of notables.

Any thoughts on this?
