    • Yeah so where exactly does this information come from? It can't be put into the article unless there is a reliable source to credit the information.
    • It was on Ubritney.com. This is what it says:

RADAR AS AN OFFICIAL BONUS TRACK[edit]

The song is not going to be re-recorded. It is probably added because of the promotional purposes for Circus. Another song may appear on the album as bonus track (probably on iTunes) - "One More Time", a revamped version of "...Baby One More Time". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.89.34.188 (talk) 09:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Producers[edit]

There's a preliminary list in the Press Release. Update please. Laxstar5 (talk) 10:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ADD LADY GAGA[edit]

Lady Gaga was one of Britney Spears producers to the new album. She gave Britney 2 of the songs she wrote! Quicksand and Mannequin! The article is here and was posted on her journal on Lady Gagas OFFICIAL website:

In response to the flood of comments ive received re: britney due to my radio interview. yes. rumors are true. i wrote TWO songs on it :). And no i will never tell you the names, buy her album and find me in the credits. And her comeback is going to make you all pee yours pants and wish you never posted those dumbass utube videos. Because really, what is more rockn'roll than going on stage under the influence in your panties. Nothing! Absolutely nothing. And yes im partial because, i used to do that. Love love love you B.

Lady Gaga deserves credit for her work on the album just as much as any of the other producers on the album do! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pugalug (talkcontribs) 01:17, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide a link to the article you're talking about?

Underground[edit]

Resolved

Since i am a new user, I can't edit this page. JSYK (Just So You Know), the song, rumored to be titled "Underground" in the video that was on MSN, has actually been confirmed to be the song "Mannequin". Can someone delete "Underground" please. However, if they are both actual tracks, edit the part that talks about the MSN video featuring the video "Mannequin".

Promotion[edit]

Resolved

I'm not sure but I don't know if the tour thing came from a reliable source, could someone check that out, because, after my little crystal ball no reliable source thingy, I don't know if it is and it came before the album was announced by the record label.

The Runners[edit]

are also expected to be producers on the album http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?title=1172739640&channel=1155152767 confirmed here.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobi130 (talkcontribs) 07:29, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typo[edit]

also under the leaked womanizer song it says the DJ was fined $250,000. but it was the radio station who recieved the fine not the DJ

Source suggests that Spears is working quickly to capitalise on recent turn around.[edit]

It might be work a mention, according to the Sun at least, that Britney is trying to release music quickly because of her recent successes. See here. Unfortunately I think that there will be growing criticism that this project was rushed, which, it certainly seem a little speedy and hectic. I will look into this some more, have others (I imagine most here are getting all their info from fan sites and forums mind) noticed these comments? — Realist2 02:27, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed Tracks[edit]

The only 2 confirmed tracks at this point are "Womanizer" and "Circus", both "Mannequin" and "Kill the Lights" have just been recorded, but have not been confirmed to be on the album. They should be moved to the "recorded tracks" section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.15.99 (talk) 15:26, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but now there is an entire list of confirmed tracks that don't appear to be sourced. If there isn't a source anywhere get rid of it or put your source on there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick Carlson (talkcontribs) 23:08, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A False Track Listing[edit]

Hi guys according to WordofBritney.com here is the track list,so someone please put it on the article.

01)Intro 02)Womanizer 03)Circus 04)Kiss Kiss 05)My Everything 06)Amnesia 07)Mannequin 08)My Baby 09)Scandalous 10)Beat Your Heart Out 11)Spotlight 12)Love 13)Kill The Lights 14)Scarred 15)Womanizer[Bill Hamel Remix] And for the source,here is the link: http://worldofbritney.com/?p=1898#comments —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shahrzad hbk (talkcontribs) 14:11, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

T-Pain[edit]

Should it be mention that T-Pain has an album being released called "Thr33 Ringz" and Spears has "Circus"? Both artists are signed to Jive Records. here's a source... [1] Charmed36 (talk) 04:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kill the Lights[edit]

This BreatheHeavy.com-link should be enough source for "Kill the Lights", because there is a clip when Britney mentioned the song and she said that it was one of her favorite songs of the album. PancakeMistake 19:53, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional Ad[edit]

On Britney.com, it has a promotional ad about circus. That should be used as the album cover until we actually see one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.104.104.165 (talk) 04:50, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CD/DVD Combo.[edit]

According to SonyBMG Australia - B2B it says that Circus is being released as a standard CD as well as a CD/DVD Combo. Not sure if this is the deluxe edition, but yes, it should be mentioned that it will feature a DVD.

  • I'm pretty sure it's the same as the deluxe edition, if you go to circuitcity.com and search for it and click on "circus [deluxe]" it says "With DVD, deluxe edition". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.15.99 (talk) 03:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When and where did we get ALL the information about the writers and producers for each song on the album. Just curious. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.15.99 (talk) 16:51, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Packaging[edit]

Resolved

Take the stuff out about the packaging, it's just a stupid topic and of no importance. I mean, if Britney and Jive Records decide to change the artwork based on fan response, then sure, it would be ok to put in here. Otherwise it's really pointless. Plus to say the image is "fairly similar to Disney's Dumbo"? That makes no sense at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.15.99 (talk) 21:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree! It needs to go! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.25.98.70 (talk) 22:29, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has been removed by another Wikipedia editor so this is resolved. AngelOfSadness talk 00:22, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Track Credits[edit]

Take out the information next to each track stating who wrote and produced it. Other than for "Womanizer" and maybe "Circus" we have not received a factual list of who did what for each song and we definitely don't know the length of each song yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.15.99 (talk) 05:04, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Rock Boy" was wriiten by Tina Parol; produced by Danja. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Simonsioni (talkcontribs) 00:25, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Track lengths[edit]

Ever since the tracklisting and writers/producers have been announced, multiple editors have gone ahead and added track lengths without so much as an indication as to where they retrieved the infomation. Seeing as only the track lengths of Womanizer and Radar are known as they were released, where exactly are these other track lengths coming from? Nothing has been released officially stating the track lengths (at least to my knowledge and I can't find anything in the existing sources that indicate to suggest this information). I can't verify them with any sources for that matter and I've been trying for ages on google. Any help here would be great, but until a source is produced, it would be better to keep track lengths out of the article. I know I'm probably making a mountain out of a mole hill here, but why start having possibly inaccurate information in the article when the rest of the content is so carefully sourced? AngelOfSadness talk 00:15, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the lengths were released on the Sony BMG press release, you can check it out here, http://www.breatheheavy.com/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1225730377&archive=&start_from=&ucat=& S3o0dk94 (talk) 08:29, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, that's a supposedly official screenshot of the Sony BMG site, reported and hosted by a fan-site. Wikipedia can't link to fansites as a source as fansites are known to not be a reliable source and so content on any fansite is deemed questionable. I have actually searched through all versions of the Sony BMG sites and I can't find the content shown. In fact, the Sony BMG press release site hasn't been updated since June. This is either a case of that the content is retrieved from a restricted part of one of the Sony BMG sites (which, by the way, the fansite did not mention) or it's not an actual screenshot. As the source states, the content is " an exclusive screen capture" and Wikipedia is not about exclusives but verifiable facts. I'm glad that at least I know where the content is coming from but whether it is the actual Press release is still iffy considering it is an "exclusive" from a fansite (I know a well known fansite but still it is a fansite). Producers who didn't make the cut[edit]

The last sentence of the Production section says that Junkie XL and Taio Cruz worked on songs that didn't make the cut for the album. Yes, this is true, but this is also true for a lot of the other artists in the Production section. None of Darkchild's songs made the cut, nor did anything Keri Hilson did with Britney. Also the song that Lady GaGa did didn't make the cut. I think the section needs a little bit of re-organization because those two writers/producers aren't the only two who didn't make the cut. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.1.38 (talk) 04:23, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. It needs cleaning not deleting. An user tried to delete the section. Charmed36 (talk) 04:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Out From Under[edit]

Out From Under is a cover for the song that Joanna sang on the Bratz Soundtrack i have PROOF ,, the writers are the same ,, check it out http://www.cheiron-music.com/songarchive/songs/joanna/outfromunder.html S3o0dk94 (talk) 19:02, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's not really a debate over that, but if there is, the publishing credits can be found with the BMI Repertoire Website so it can be used as a source if needed. I think the site only mentions already released tracks as it seems it doesn't have the other tracks from Circus on it yet. AngelOfSadness talk 19:08, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the section says Lady GaGa co wrote blur which is not true, although it should be mentioned that one of her songs (amnesia) is a bonus track (in Japan) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.17.255.213 (talk) 18:12, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

Per WP:NSONGS: "Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts [...] are probably notable. Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article". In this era non-singles chart based on digital downloads, and not every song needs an article. Spears didn't talk about the song in interviews or referred to it, she didn't even perform it on tour. The small music video section could be added to the Promotion section of this article. Xwomanizerx (talk) 03:29, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's been over a week and I don't see opposition to this. I'm going to perform the merge. Xwomanizerx (talk) 17:37, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unusual You not a single[edit]

I have removed "Unusual You" from the singles sections. It was not a single, the reference from The music release network is not valid and is not to be used on Wikipedia. The website is a mirrored knock off of The Music Network. Notice the similar website titles? "The Music Network" and "The Music Chart Network". The link is 100% not reliable, its powered by Yola.com meaning anyone can create a website and add what ever they want and "claim its reliable". - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:02, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think it's a single. --Cprice1000talk2me 15:14, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can the page now be recreated? --Cprice1000talk2me 15:34, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discogs can be edited by anyone so it's not a reliable source. And the Hung Medien archives have listed unofficial releases (link does not work properly on wiki pages so go here and see the "Love Games" DVD) so I wouldn't consider any of its sites as reliable sources for single releases. –Chase (talk / contribs) 19:44, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but Discogs also shows pictures, tracklistings, etc. and that's not fake. And the Hung Medien site is perfectly reliable for chart sections so it's fine for releases. --Cprice1000talk2me 17:07, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can take a picture of a track listing I printed off myself and upload it to Discogs. That's exactly why it's not a reliable source. And the Hung Medien archives generally are not flawed with their chart positions, however, as I noted above, unofficial releases have been listed so those sites should not be used as a RS for track listing and single release info. –Chase (talk / contribs) 03:06, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just one unoffical release does not make it all fake. Also, how do you know it was unofficial? It could have just been a limited release or mislabeled. And it's more like taking a CD cover and a picture of a CD and putting it online, as it's not just a tracklisting. Also there is the Ape Club site. --75.66.242.79 (talk) 22:56, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't have reliable sources to back this so-called release, it won't be added. WP:V, WP:RS. Continue violating these policies and you can expect a block for disruption. –Chase (talk / contribs) 01:26, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And the Ape Club site you keep citing isn't a reliable source. –Chase (talk / contribs) 01:31, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hung Meiden is a reliable source.

Also, what would you consider a reliable source for its chart peak. (ARIA does not publish its Physical chart, or anyothers, in archives) A video game site with an article about a DJ who creates music for their games should be fine as it was considered reliable when Unusual You had its own page. --Cprice1000talk2me 01:50, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some random blog by some random DJ is not reliable no matter who told you such. I don't know where you are to get the info from, I don't even know if that info is accurate, but it needs to come from a reliable source, and "Ape Club" is not one. And I've already explained that Hung Medien sites have listed unofficial releases and thus they should only be used to source chart peaks since they are officially licensed to do so. –Chase (talk / contribs) 03:13, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

REVIVING THIS CONVERSATION The Love Games DVD, which according to you is not existent, is, indeed, right here [2] --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:43, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't consider Hung Median, or any website which shows only charting, to be reliable for determining if something was a single or not. It's entirely possible for non-singles to chart; happens frequently enough with U2. It's possible that it was a non-single charter, or even a promotional single. Does the artist's website not have anything to say about it? Melicans (talk, contributions) 04:34, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cprice1000, and everyone else arguing for "Unusual You" and The Love Games DVD, Britney Spears is a humongous, notable pop star who releases notable material. Whether these items exist or not, they are not notable. Since they are not notable, they can't easily be verified (probably not at all). Wikipedia is not about what happened or not, it is about what is important and can you prove it. It is what it is. I Help, When I Can.[12] 13:23, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And in case any others did not understand what I meant, Single/DVD or not, these materials are not notable or verifiable. Therefore, articles shall not be made for these materials. They can be brought up in an appropriate article, but they are not notable or verifiable enough to stand in their own article space. I Help, When I Can.[12] 13:28, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, a completely notable article is being made over at User:Caponer/Sandbox2. Unusual You did not chart on Hung Meiden-run charts, they just list the CD cover and its catalog number. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 14:22, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, you have made it verifiable, but it is still not notable. Out of the 23 sources used, 4 were about the actual song and not the song as part of the album (those articles reinforce the album's notability, not the song's). On top of that, those "articles" were nothing but writing credits. I Help, When I Can.[12] 15:19, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Similar situation as Upgrade U and Freakum Dress don't give me that WP:OTHERCRAP crap because 1. That's just an essay and 2. It is the exact situation. What's the big deal if it's part of the album or not? Unusual You was obviously notable enough for them to include it in their review. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 15:21, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was... but not notable enough to receive its own coverage. That article was about the album, not the song. This song has no "significant independent coverage in reliable sources" whatsoever. I'm sorry, but the truth is the truth. I Help, When I Can.[12] 15:33, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The point is that "Unusual You is an official single from Circus. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Charted on the Pop 100, notable enough, furthermore it passes WP:GNG. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 05:47, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kill the Lights[edit]

It should be like on Greatest Hits: My Prerogative with the "Chris Cox Megamix" where the song is at the near bottom of the article. There isn't really anything from the seperate article for "Kill the Lights" that is on this one, yet there is much information. --Cprice1000talk2me 18:52, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unusual You recreation[edit]

There is no reason why the page cannot be recreated. The song charted and there are plenty of reliable sources that list it as a single. The deletion discussion also said that "When it becomes a single, it can get recreated." See here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unusual You --Cprice1000talk2me 12:10, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason why there can't be an article for this single. --Cprice1000talk2me 20:55, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Total singles[edit]

Circus has sold a total of over 12 million singles worldwide. This is because, Womanizer has sold 5.7 million, Circus 5.5, If U Seek Amy 2 millions and Radar 800,000. Please take note--Affieq (talk) 09:01, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing back "Kill the Lights"[edit]

I had no idea the article in question was "Kill the Lights" when you posted that. If I did I would have definitely opposed. The article was full of information, and that was not just "some album track." I feel it should be brought back. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 04:53, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support I agree to bring it back simply because the song is popular even though it did not get an official release. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:46, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Album sales[edit]

I'm a little confused here, guys.Chart performance says the album sold 5 million copies, but the introduction says 3.5. Which figure is it? -- Jack1755 (talk) 22:08, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quicksand[edit]

Can whoever keeps putting Lady Gaga in "Quicksand" please stop? Yes Gaga does backing vocals for it, but it's not "Quicksand (ft. Lady Gaga)" it's just "Quicksand" and yes Gaga co-wrote it, but she is credited as Stefani Germanotta, not Lady Gaga so please leave it as such :) Rouse52794 (talk) 19:19, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

quicksand is a bonus track, it really should be put back in 72.13.132.68 (talk) 05:52, 12 August 2011 (UTC)ll[reply]

Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
