Proposal to clear up confusing content in this article[edit]

Hi all! On behalf of Citrix Systems through my work with Beutler Ink, I wanted to raise an issue with the name of this article. While the title of the article and its lead are about Citrix Workspace, the body of the article is actually about a different product: Citrix Virtual Desktops, which was formerly known as XenDesktop. This Wikipedia article was previously titled "XenDesktop", but was moved to "Citrix Workspace" in June 2019. This source shows that XenDesktop became Citrix Virtual Desktops, not Citrix Workspace.

There is also an article on Citrix Workspace App. Two separate articles on Citrix Workspace and Citrix Workspace App may not be necessary; I've posted a draft in my user space for editors to see what a single Citrix Workspace article could look like. In a discussion at Talk:Citrix Workspace App, editor Kvng suggested leaving the lead of this article as a stub for Citrix Workspace and moving the body to Citrix Virtual Desktops as an interim step. That seems sensible to me. Let me know what you think! Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 14:30, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to Kvng for moving the body to Citrix Virtual Desktops. If editors are keen to expand this article ever-so-briefly, I've posted a draft in my user space that adds a little more detail citing independent published sources. Let me know what you think! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:05, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft replacement[edit]

Hello! On behalf of Citrix Systems, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I have drafted a new Wikipedia article to update this existing entry. The live article is just three sentences long, so I've drafted new material to expand the stub slightly and offer some additional detail on Citrix Workspace and update the infobox, which is currently about another product. Please see User:Inkian Jason/Citrix Workspace.

I've worked to draft an accurate, neutral, and up to date overview of Citrix's flagship product, based on Wikipedia-appropriate sourcing. I've disclosed my conflict of interest at the top of this page, in compliance with Wikipedia's Terms of Use, and Citrix has verified the accuracy of the proposed draft. As with all my work on Wikipedia, I'd like to think the draft is a clear improvement over the current article, but I will let volunteer editors review and implement appropriately.

@Kvng: I see you assisted my former colleague by moving material about Citrix Virtual Desktops to a new article. That move is greatly appreciated and helped clarify a lot of confusion. Perhaps you would be interested in reviewing my request to expand this article slightly? I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for your consideration, Inkian Jason (talk) 16:32, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ferkjl: Hello again! I'm curious if you're able to help with this request, given your previous assistance at related Talk:Citrix Systems. Thanks! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:43, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done. While not strictly necessary, I wonder why this wasn't tagged with Template:Request edit? Not saying you should have done it, I'm just curious if I have missed something. 15 (talk) 21:36, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@15: Thanks for your help! Much appreciated. Re: Template:Request edit, I use this template for simple and straightforward article updates/corrections, but in this case I was initially targeting editors who had helped on Citrix-related entries in the past. Thanks again! Inkian Jason (talk) 13:35, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Right, that makes sense, thanks. 15 (talk) 20:04, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
