I will carefully fact check my contribution to this article, but at first glance everything every statement seems to be reliably sourced - but I will check it. My research did not reveal any funeral celebrants in the 1890s. The celebrancy movement which started in Australia in 1975 or so was new to society then and was later adopted by New Zealand, UK, and then much later the USA.Gladiator-Citizen (talk) 23:57, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
