Merge[edit]

I am going to propose that this article be merged (or re-merged) with the "Cleveland Force" article. For one thing, the team re-adopted the name "Force" for the last three years of existance and most logically belongs there.Hx823 (talk) 21:12, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I propose you correct the article. You have the wrong coach listed when the Crunch won the championship in 1995. It should be corrected to read Bruce Miller. You have it listed at the bottom of the page that he was the coach during that time but in the written article credit another coach. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.43.187.82 (talk) 10:51, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Split[edit]

User:EurekaLott proposed that this article be split into articles titled Cleveland Crunch (1989–2005) and Cleveland Crunch (2021–present).

Do not Split. There is sufficient precedent in Wikipedia articles to maintain just one article for the complete history of a sports team. See any of the several baseball or basketball articles, for example: Atlanta Braves and Sacramento Kings. Truthanado (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Split The precedent for soccer articles is to have separate articles when an expansion team takes the name of a former team. Examples include Baltimore Blast (1980–1992) and Baltimore Blast, Tacoma Stars (1983–92) and Tacoma Stars, plus Kansas City Comets (1979–91), Kansas City Comets (2001–05) and Kansas City Comets (2010–). No split Current Crunch considers itself a continuation/resurrection of the old Crunch, and recognizes all past accomplishments - kinda like what the Browns do. Vjmlhds (talk) 17:04, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The current Crunch is connected to the crunch from 1989 through 2005. The current owner bought the rights to the team not just the namesake. 2600:1700:74B8:200:1486:FBE4:167D:ACE0 (talk) 18:21, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
