Passed Away?[edit]

"My beloved Uncle Cliff passed away on Sunday October 12th (2008) May he rest in peace...His music will forever play in my heart. Love ya Uncle Cliff" a note on youtube.com). I can't verify this in google news or provide a link yet. Ruth E (talk) 01:49, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hugh Masekela[edit]

On the Hot 100, "Grazing In The Grass" peaked at #1 on 20-27 July 1968, while "The Horse" peaked at #2 on 29 June - 13 July 1968. So the two records were not 1-2 on any Hot 100. Further, 29 July 1968 was not a Hot 100 chart date. The Allmusic source is responsible for both errors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.151.174.67 (talk) 13:38, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is correct. I reverted it because it was wrong. The week The Horse dropped from #2, Grazin' moved up from #5 to #1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.226.104.6 (talk) 11:53, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not reissued[edit]

What's the point of asserting that "The material Nobles recorded for Atlantic has never been reissued."? It's unsupported and doesn't add anything to the article. Toddst1 (talk) 17:55, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The words are not mine (at least, not initially), but whether an artist is still in print is quite relevant to assessing influence and reception over time. This is as true of books and film as it is of music. Chubbles (talk) 21:06, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

More about The Horse[edit]

As seen in this YouTube video, The Horse was apparently remixed with a new vocal track with lyrics about a dance called The Horse. The video purports to show the dance but it seems to be not quite fully developed at the time the video was made. I haven't yet found details about this.

Also, the article here doesn't mention the widespread use of The Horse by pep bands and marching bands but I don't have any statistics for that at this time.
