capitalization.[edit]

The title of the band is clipping., not Clipping.. The title of the article reflects this, but not the URL. Wikipedia URLs are case sensitive, is this not something that could be modified to better represent the artist's name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.19.29.55 (talk) 04:17, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Someone have already put the {{lowercase title}} tag at the beginning of the article, but unfortunately I can't do much more.
The first letter in the URL is automatically capitalyzed, and it is indeed the only letter that is no case-sensitive. This is probably done directly at the webserver level for efficiency reasons, so changing this behaviour is probably complicated unless you don't care about efficiency.

If there was an easy solution, I am sure it would have already be done for eBay or [iPod]] that wrongly appears as EBay/IPod.

Sorry for that, but at least you got an explanation and the confirmation that indeed we can't fix that for now. But should that change, the {{lowercase title}} tag would certainly be used to automatically fix those few pages.

The page was moved to "(band)" by someone else, and I had another page remove the period. Therefore, I removed the "lowercase title". --George Ho (talk) 12:01, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
