It's Stephen Bruton Not Bob Dylan Singing Backing Vocals on Kristofferson's New Album Submitted by Mike on Wed, 09/30/2009 - 09:59 Somewhere on the web, someone claims Bob Dylan sings uncredited backing vocals on "Closer To The Bone" the title track of Kris Kristofferson's new album. This is not true. That backing vocal is from our friend Stephen Bruton. Stephen passed away earlier this year and we miss him. We love Dylan but we want to make sure Stephen gets the credit he deserves. We're asking bloggers and newspapers to run corrections. If you'd like to hear Stephen's backing vocals on the track, you can watch the new video for "Closer To The Bone" directed by Danny Clinch here: http://vimeo.com/6817017 Also, please read this wonderful piece in the Austin-American Statesman. Kristofferson speaks about his friendship and the incredible contributions Stephen Bruton made to his music: http://www.austin360.com/music/content/music/stories/2009/09/0929music.html

How many times did I have to tell you this? Glad now you took it off. It bothers me that just because some journalist says it, then it has to be true. Since I am not a journalist, my hypothesis didn't count. 158.123.187.121 (talk) 15:05, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Nichole[reply]
