Hi, 70.68.173.242! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!

I have just reverted one of your edits, for two reasons:

1. The following sentence seemed to go against Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View guideline:

reviews that were given by fans were due to how the game played nothing like the original Club Penguin
This appears to be a point of view: that the game was not like the original Club Penguin in terms of play style.

2. The following sentence assumed a point of view, which probably violates Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View guideline as well:

there was actually a small minority of fans happy towards Club Penguin Island
This assumes that the reader would assume that there weren't any fans who were happy about Club Penguin Island.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi, Awesomewalle and 2A02:C7F:A012:2B00:80F4:E44F:C84:1C97! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!

I have just reverted two edits, one from each of you. This is why:

Awesomewalle’s edit removed a phrase saying that Club Penguin Island (as Project: Super Secret) was teased in July 2015, replacing it with a statement that people are disappointed. 2A02:C7F:A012:2B00:80F4:E44F:C84:1C97’s edit removed this statement for failing to comply with Wikipedia’s guidelines on neutrality. However, the phrase about Club Penguin Island being teased in July 2015 was not re-added. To fix this, I reverted both edits, keeping the non-neutral statement off of the page (as 2A02:C7F:A012:2B00:80F4:E44F:C84:1C97’s edit did), but making sure that the phrase was restored accurately.

Thank you again for editing Wikipedia!

Hi, 2605:8D80:686:E22E:8589:B846:FBB8:4D99 and 2600:1004:B16A:92F7:D9C6:5631:DC1F:85FF! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!

I have just reverted four of your edits: three from 2605:8D80:686:E22E:8589:B846:FBB8:4D99, and one from 2600:1004:B16A:92F7:D9C6:5631:DC1F:85FF.

2605:8D80:686:E22E:8589:B846:FBB8:4D99's edits (this edit, this edit, and this edit) were reverted for the following reasons:

  1. They were uncited.
  2. Reviews from fans may be unencyclopedic.
  3. The criticism geared towards "the inability to play the game without a membership" seems to be false, as the game appears to be playable without a membership. Therefore, it is likely uncitable. If you meant that criticism was geared towards "the inability to play large parts of the game without a membership", that is probably much more citable.

2600:1004:B16A:92F7:D9C6:5631:DC1F:85FF's edit was reverted for the following reasons:

  1. It was uncited.
  2. It had very little to do with the subject of the article.
  3. It seemed to be spreading a rumor. While this may not be official Wikipedia policy, uncited rumors are probably damaging, and should be removed. Furthermore, being uncited, they would fall under Wikipedia's No Original Research policy.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Confusing hatnote[edit]

Hi, Jamesjpk! Thank you for editing Wikipedia!

I noticed that you added the following hatnote to the Club Penguin Island page:

While having a disamiguation hatnote is helpful (since Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island could easily be confused), this hatnote indicates that Club Penguin Island is a version of Club Penguin. However, Club Penguin Island seems to be a game related to Club Penguin, not another version of it.

Club Penguin's lede and Club Penguin Island's lede seem to say that Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island are separate games. Club Penguin Island's lede says (about Club Penguin Island) that "It is the successor to Club Penguin", while Club Penguin's lede says (about Club Prnguin) that "The game was replaced by a successor, titled Club Penguin Island".

Something that makes it hard to discern whether or not Club Prnguin Island is a version Club Penguin is that, in this official Club Penguin blog post, Club Penguin Island is referred to as "an entirely new Club Penguin experience for mobile". However, as it says later in the blog post: "we’ve made the decision to discontinue the current Club Penguin game", indicating that the two are separate games.

Another thing that I find confusing in the hatnote is that it calls Club Penguin "the computer version". However, Club Penguin was on both computers and mobile devices.

If there are no objections, I will change the hatnote to the following:

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I have no objections. Thanks for fixing my edit! Jamesjpk (talk) 03:13, 17 April 2017 (UTC) (As far as I know, they are two different games, one mobile and computer version that was closed down, and one advanced one only on mobile.)[reply]
You're welcome, Jamesjpk! I will change the hatnote now. Noah Kastin (talk) 05:15, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jamesjpk: I just changed the hatnote. I also just discovered that the Club Penguin page has a hatnote redirecting here, which reads as follows:
This brings up the question of whether or not the hatnote for Club Penguin Island should be something more like this:
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks!

That sounds like a better idea to not be confusing @Noah Kastin:. Jamesjpk (talk) 13:20, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion, Jamesjpk! Are you suggesting that the hatnote should be changed to the following:
Thanks again!

I agree with that harnote. Thanks @Noah Kastin: Jamesjpk (talk) 12:51, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jamesjpk: I just changed the hatnote. Hopefully, it won't need changing again — though if it does, I will be willing to change it. Noah Kastin (talk) 02:13, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
