Is Ryan Stout a CSF alum?[edit]

I can find no sources indicating that Ryan Stout graduated from CSF, although it appears he did attend it. If you have a source, please add it to the reference section or I will delete his name again. Elsrkite 08:42, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changed importance level from low to mid[edit]

College of Santa Fe should qualify for higher than "Low" importance because the article is of interest to more than specialists. If you disagree, please explain before you change the importance rating back. Elsrkite 09:04, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems[edit]

This page has had problems with folks adding copyrighted text. I removed what I could find to be a cv, but I suspect that the Visual and Moving Image Arts sections are also copied from somewhere, though I can't find where. NPOV problems[edit]

Last paragraph of History[edit]

This material is more like news than history. I'm going to move it to "College of Santa Fe Today." Also, I second delldot's proposals. The author(s) of those sections need to provide new sources, or else pare down the sections to what is available in the course catalog, if they want to keep those sections. Name change and redirects[edit]

I performed a little editing on this article, mostly to update info related to the name change. One thing I have not done (due to lack of relevant expertise, not a lack of will) is update the redirects. Currently, a query for "Santa Fe University of Art and Design" (the current name) redirects to "College of Santa Fe" (the old name). This should probably be reversed, but (again) I just don't have the skillz. Jtmorgan (talk) 00:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a real question whether the old article should be left at "College of Santa Fe" and converted into an historical article with a link to a new "SFU of A&D" article under its own title, or contrawise whether the two articles should be combined. I see what you mean, Bejnar. I wonder what precedents there are for both cases? For instance, my own alma mater underwent a complete restructuring in the 1930's when the so-called "New Program" came in. Although the name remains the same St. John's is, emphatically, no longer the same college it was before 1937. However, the College still claims that lineage, and the Wikipedia article on SJC does not recognize the difference. I'm inclined to draw a parallel between these two cases. Thoughts? Absolutely the two articles should be separated. ALL they share are buildings. SFUAD is NOT IN ANY WAY a continuation of CSF. CSF was a Lasallian Brothers school that closed (not "almost" closed) in 2009. The current school is a for-profit branch of the Laureate Education Corporation with no connection to the CSF. None. Their combination in this article is completely misleading and inaccurate. This is like saying the frozen yogurt place in the mall is a "continuation" of the Foot Locker shoe store that used to occupy the same space. Ridiculous. Inaccurate Information[edit]

The Santa Fe University of Art and Design is in no way at all affiliated with the College of Santa Fe. This entire article and the redirect from CSF are extremely misleading and downright false. The College of Santa Fe was CLOSED. Not "almost closed" or "saved from closing" or "nearly closed", etc. To say there is any relationship between the 2 institutions is like saying the new Chipotle Restaurant is a "continuation" of the dentist's office that used to be in same building, just because they are in the same building. This needs to be fixed permanently as Wikipedia, at a minimum, strives not be to present information that is blatantly WRONG. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Venqax (talk • contribs) 17:17, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Venqax: Until such changes are made, the place to discuss this would be Talk:Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Talk:College of Santa Fe is, currently, a talk page for a redirect, which means that very few people will see it. (It doesn't look like this talk page was moved properly, either, which makes the problem worse). I suggest starting a new discussion there, or copy/pasting this one. Major changes, such as splitting an article, are made by consensus, so it's important to make this discussion transparent and accessible to all interested editors. Thanks. @Venqax: This is a technical issue. If you click on College of Santa Fe it automatically redirects to Santa Fe University of Art and Design. You were right to start a discussion on a talk page, but for fussy technical reasons which only interfere with the discussion, you started it in the wrong place. Wikipedia's software is over fifteen years old, and sometimes irritations like this happen, unfortunately.
