Columbia Heights boundary error[edit]

It is stated that the boundary for the east side of Columbia Heights is Park Place however the shading on the map looks more like it is Sherman Ave and New Hampshire Ave. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.80.176.86 (talk) 14:39, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup needed for "Assistance through economic transition" section[edit]

I tagged this section with the template:essay-entry label, but I think I may have been too kind. It's rife with POV statements and lacks any sources for the many dubious assertions. Unless someone can greatly improve it, I'll probably to remove the whole thing. --dm (talk) 20:44, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Went ahead and deleted the section. It didn't even read like an essay; it read like a sales brochure. The whole thing was inherently POV and useless.Msclguru 13:03, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I posted the page to inform about an incoming program to benefit small and local businesses and the commercial corridors of Columbia Heights (a fact). If there is a way to improve the section I added I'd be happy to know what those improvements could be.

Thanks for your contribution. Unfortunately, Wikipedia isn't the place to inform about government initiatives. This section did not conform to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and so has been removed. --D. Monack | talk 20:20, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I take issue with the boundaries described. Pleasant Plains still exists as a neighborhood to the immediate EAST of Columbia Heights, whose eastern boundary is usually described as 11th Street or sometimes Sherman Avenue. The neighborhood of Pleasant Plains is generally described as Sherman Ave as the Western Boundary, and Georgia Avenue as the Eastern boundary, with Spring Road/Princeton Place to the North and Florida Avenue to the south.

Again, questioning the boundaries. Where's the citation for what constitutes "legal" boundaries of the neighborhood?! Meanteeth (talk) 02:39, 17 August 2011 (UTC) Meanteeth[reply]

Just read the part about Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park. Who is the main editor here? The park history is so easily verifiable... it leaves out all mention of the fact that it was donated land, and that the displaced college was actually Wayland Seminary, the precursor to Virginia Union. The park is located on what was a large settlement of colored families. I'm perplexed by all the license taken in rewriting the history of the neighborhood. Take the walking tour... maybe then write the article?! Meanteeth (talk) 04:18, 31 August 2011 (UTC) meanteeth[reply]
