Ethnicity[edit]

The initial quote from Josiah Gregg, "Comancheros are usually composed of the indigent and rude classes of the frontier villages...", is, at best, a subjective assessment of social characteristics, from a layperson, that do not add to our understanding of the Comancheros ethnicity. One cannot be sure how Gregg's use of "rude" is intended, but it's likely that he meant uncivilized or savage. And "indigent", while giving some insight into economic considerations, would have to be quantified, since standards of poverty were widely variable at that time. Neither of these terms (indigent and rude) has a place in modern academic offerings. While other parts of the Gregg quote do give some insight into the social aspects of the group, it does not widen our understanding of their ethnicity. Also, Gregg's view of these people, while first hand, is subject to social biases of the time; and these biases may be expressed in word choices that may give us insight into Gregg's perspective, but may not reflect an objective account of their cultural activities or economic state. I suggest that the entire Gregg section be removed, at least from the section on ethnicty, in order to reflect the highest scholarly standards Wikipedia wishes to maintain. However, accurate or not, since they are part of an historic first hand account, they could be given in a section that states that these were opinions given in a diary account from a layperson of the time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.202.9 (talk) 04:12, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comanchero[edit]

I know this has (almost) nothing to do with it but the band Raggio Di Luna had a single called "Comanchero" and I'm surprised there's no Wikipedia page on it. Even though I don't know enough about either the song or the band to do it myself. YouTube link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAq1ONQh9R8
