Yo soy del norte... huh?[edit]

In "1996–2015", you mean "Yo soy del Monte (Compay)" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRdeyO8T65Y instead of "I Soy del Norte"

Guitarist?[edit]

The article says he was a guitarist, but whenever I have seen Compay playing his 'guitar' it is a special one with 8 strings instead of 6. Is this a tiple or something else? Claireislovely (talk) 18:00, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article discusses his instruments under 'Biography'. Guitarist is a general term which covers quite a number of variants, not just the Spanish guitar. What you saw him play was almost certainly the armónico, which he invented. It actually has seven strings. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:28, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Complete disregard to the period between 1959 and 1997[edit]

During this long period starting in the revolution of 1959 and until the Buena Vista project (38 years whcih starngely enough are completely omitted from this article), Compay Segundo, as many other prominent Cuban Trova and Son musicians, was forced not to perform and had to work as a... cigar roller! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erezoni (talkcontribs) 21:36, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
