Sources and aboutself[edit]

There is currently a discussion at the NOR noticeboard about usable sources and WP:ABOUTSELF in this article. Llll5032 (talk) 23:24, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template messages[edit]

I would like to talk to some more experienced editors about when I could start to remove template messages on this page. I've address a majority of these issues, but would like to get the opinions of others before making changes/removal to these. UnorthodoxyAC (talk) 24 December 2022 (UTC)

There are some guidelines at WP:WTRMT (see #1 #2 #5 #6 #8) on when a template should be removed. Regarding the sourcing, the onus is on an editor adding new content (or removing longstanding existing content) to reach consensus for it with other editors if there is a dispute. For editors new to the questions about sourcing in this article, there is some background discussion at Wikipedia:No original research/Noticeboard#Compound Media. In my opinion, the issues discussed there have not been adequately addressed yet to warrant either removing the templates or keeping the disputed content in the article, but other editors' opinions would be helpful. Indeed, as we seem to be the only two with any interest. UnorthodoxyAC (talk) 01:03, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you are interested in the reasons for this sourcing, then WP:BESTSOURCES, WP:STICKTOSOURCE and WP:INDY probably offer the best summations. Llll5032 (talk) 02:44, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've read two of the three already, but the issue, as with many of these articles, is that they're left up to interpretation. Maybe it's because of Wikipedia being technically open to the public? I don't know... but I suppose that's what talk pages are for. UnorthodoxyAC (talk) 02:53, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A fourth is WP:NOTDIRECTORY. These all help ensure that Wikipedia is a non-promotional encyclopedia like Britannica and not a company index, and per WP:INDY "ensures articles can catalog a topic's worth and its role and achievements within society". Shows list[edit]

The Shows list lacks almost any third-party RS and in current form probably violates WP:NOTDATABASE, WP:PROPORTION, and WP:PRIMARY #2 and 5, and perhaps WP:OR. Should it be removed, either all or in part? A discussion in December 2022 at Wikipedia:No original research/Noticeboard/Archive 48#Compound Media may be relevant. First 3 paragraphs[edit]

I restored the stable wording in the top three paragraphs, which have been stable since July of 2023 but recently had major edits that asserted a neutrality violation. Can specific questions about NPOV language or sources be discussed on the talk page? Llll5032 (talk) 02:17, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
