Too much?[edit]

This article is massive, I mean seriously massive. Its as if someone copied the entire Concrete website onto the article. I mean, its better than a stub, but couldn't all this info be trimmed down into a more reasonable size of a town of 800 people! The equally important and historic anacortes's article is a fifth of the size, which is perfectly manageable, and the city 15,000 more people! If there's a Wikipedia prohibition on the size of an article related to the size of the article's subject (in this case, the population of Concrete), I'm unaware of it. Oh, and BTW - no one copied the Concrete website into the article. The article was thoughtfully writte and edited, and is pretty well referenced, IMO. Removal of book cover[edit]

I have now twice removed Image:TobiasWolff ThisBoysLife.jpg from this article, since there is no fair-use rationale provided for the use of this image in this article. Every use of a non-free image in an article must satisfy the non-free content criteria. In particular, I do not believe that the use of this book cover in this article satisfies point 8, because it does not "significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic," and its omission would not "be detrimental to that understanding." It is clear from the text alone that Tobias Wolff, author of This Boy's Life, lived in Concrete, Washington, and that this book and the subsequent film depict life in the town. Those seem to be the important points of the section, and the book cover adds nothing to this understanding. —Bkell (talk) 14:38, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the first edit summary, it seemed you were giving personal opinion rather than Wikipedia "law" (of course, I am using that term loosely ;-) That's fine, I now understand what you were doing the first time. Travel guide[edit]

This article is clearly in violation of WP:TRAVELGUIDE. Here's a relevant bit:

"Wikipedia is not the place to recreate content more suited to entries in hotel or culinary guides, travelogues, and the like. Notable locations may meet the inclusion criteria, but the resulting articles need not include every tourist attraction, restaurant, hotel or venue, etc."

I think the keyword is "notable". The things listed as notable in this article do not appear to be so according to Wikipedia's definition of WP:NOTABILITY which basically means there needs to be an article on these subjects already. I'm going to start slowly cleaning some of this up. At least get rid of unsourced things for now. SQGibbon (talk) 19:00, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
