Club spokesman and club nickname[edit]

To sort out both these issues once and for all, I have just phoned and spoken to the club secretary, Tom Mead. (Telephone number on the club's website)

  • The club nickname is The Bears it is not Bungling Bongo. Also note that the official Congleton Town website has a "Club Details" page. On there it has - "Nickname The Bears."
  • "Collie Dog" is someones nickname. However, even though real names should be used and not nicknames, that person is not an official club spokesman and they are not part of the non-playing staff.

"CollieDog" is the penname chosen by Colin Whitehurst (i.e. me)..last time I looked I had a seat on the board. There are many other board members who are not listed in the non-playing staff. I didn't realise it was meant to be an exhaustive list, just Chairman, Vice Chairman and Club Secretary are listed as they tend to travel with the 1st team as club officials. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.41.5.239 (talk) 16:45, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Any further additions of either of the above, will again be removed.--♦Tangerines♦·Talk 15:30, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Tom" Mead? TOM Mead? Who the hell is Tom Mead? KEN Mead is who you are looking for. Who can trust your edits when you dont even get this right?!?!?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fylderoyston (talkcontribs) 21:02, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a point about the content of the article? — sjorford++ 21:56, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As Sjordford says, it is about the article, not my making a mistake on the talk page. It only matters what is on the article not here. And considering I put Ken Mead on the article - which you today changed to Tom Mead, which I have restored back - that is all that matters.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 17:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
