System Informstion section gibberish[edit]

This language -- "Because of utility regulatory changes, Consumers give up control of its transmission system. It opted instead to sell the system" -- is gibberish. Would someone clarify what is being said here? In particular ,"instead of" what?

Citations would also be good.

Marketing copy?[edit]

In December 2016, the global research firm Sustainalytics recognized Consumers Energy for ranking among the top 6 percent of utilities across the world for having "sustainable environmental, social and economic practices." This year marks the third year in a row that Consumers Energy has received this recognition. In 2016, the company, its foundations, and employees were predicted to give more than $10 million in contributions and volunteer hours to nonprofits.^[1]
