Edit warring[edit]

User:Combination and User:Super David, please discuss your edit war over the inclusion of a trivia section in this section. bibliomaniac15 00:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think a trivia section is completely necessary. Super David 00:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Super David[reply]

As I have stated several times in my edit summaries, wikipedia is not a collection of random fan observations, and any trivia of interest should be integrated into appropriate areas of the article or removed entirely, as per WP:TRIVIA. The current selection does not meet WP's encyclopedic threshold. Combination 07:36, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The trivia section under dispute is actually less necessary than normal trivia sections. One of the entries is a piece of original research opinion that I thought was vandalism at first (I've removed it before) and the other item is just a small detail regarding one song in the soundtrack. Keeping the section in would be a bad idea. Voretus 18:02, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Contra Hard Corps.PNG[edit]

Image:Contra Hard Corps.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

American date[edit]

I'd like to know where the American date came from. It's not on MobyGames or GameFAQs, and the only sites I've found are too new to have anything other than the date from here.

Character list[edit]

@SimonWan00: Perhaps I was not clear in my edit summary. Per WP:VGSCOPE #6, lists of characters lacking secondary sourcing are considered inappropriate. The list you wrote is not supported by secondary sources, stuff like IGN, Eurogamer, etc. (not the game itself or instruction manual). For that reason, the list is not appropriate to include.

In response to your message "if you want to delete, how about delete every character list articles". There are thousands of video game articles, some character lists are sourced appropriately, and I have a life outside Wikipedia believe it or not, so that's an unreasonable suggestion. The reason I engaged with you here is to save you time, because you are an active editor and I would like you to understand this guideline before you add these lists elsewhere, only for them to be removed by other editors. Make sense? If you agree, great. But if you still disagree, that's fine, but MOS is guideline and I will ping the video game project for more opinions on the matter.
