Questionable link removal[edit]

In the recent past, two links were removed from the article, both of which were probably useful:

- == External links == - *Map of Coolock - *Northside Shopping Centre

The first is a type of link common across Dublin articles, as it offers reasonable, if not perfect local mapping. I guess the target site carries advertising, but so do most websites, and the value of mapping is strong, and it is not so easy to get maps.

And the second represents the main commercial centre of the area, and a landmark in Irish shopping centres.

If there are no objections, I would like to see both links, especially the first, restored. 217.118.66.27 05:40, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, forumforus is just a fat ad shell around google maps, and has no added value by itself. They do not provide maps. If you want to link google maps from wikipedia, it is just fine, but linking a heavy set of ads linking google maps is not appropriate. Linking shopping centres is not the purpose of wikipedia external links, even if major. Vincent Lextrait 04:27, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Postal districts[edit]

(In reply to User:SeoR's edit summary: Yup - the oldest part of Coolock, the village itself, is still in Dublin 5. BastunBaStun not BaTsun 09:50, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent, thanks. Had to tell, as some maps seem to have Dublin 17 there. SeoR 09:36, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clonshaugh on the other hand is in Dublin 17. It used to be a part of Priorswood Dublin 5 but the postal zones changed in the late 70s/early 80s--Stunion (talk) 22:56, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
