Great start[edit]

This is one of the best beginnings of an article covering a high school I've seen here. Very comprehensive, a good deal sourced, although imbalanced towards the sports programs. It still needs wikifying, and cleaning up of some editorializing that has slipped in here and there which can easily be removed. The article relies heavily on one newspaper's articles, understandable given the local interest subject. And some of the coffee-counter type accounts need real published references, i.e. "Flossie Jane", and "the Zoo" which I think are great touches story-wise but must have published references for wikipedia. Unfortunately the published references will probably be harder to find for non-sports related facts. I hope these references can be found because I think such accounts would be very interesting to more than a few wikipedia readers.Professor marginalia 07:46, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, "Id." is not allowed as a source for verification purposes and its used for more than half the references. References have to be published and editors can't write all new material to publish at wikipedia.Professor marginalia 21:53, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
further advice: the sports section is really a little excessively detailed. This is not a place to immortalize all the players, and usually the coach gets a sentence, not a whole section. If you need help cutting it down, ask Professor m. or me DGG 07:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikischools Policy[edit]

Hello editors!

While just on my way out, please read Wikischools Policy for the reason behind the recent (and future) deletions. There is a great deal of information that needs to be taken out to improve this article. Please read the policy before adding anything else. Good editing!LonelyBeacon (talk) 18:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to start deletions and not leave a more extensive reasoning. Here is a link to the Wikischools Project Page, specifically the What Not To Include section. Specifically here are some highlights:

1. Do not include mention of staff and students who are only notable for their work at the school, unless it is of national significance. For example: winning a national award, setting a national record, criminal notoriety of national relevence, etc.

2. Generally, alumni are notable if they can be linked to an article already on Wikipedia. This is not a universal truth, as sometimes the article needs to be written. In this case, third party, reputable citations are very important.

3. Events need to be long term notable. This is to say that weekly sports scores, this year's fall play, winning a local band competition, the student council officers, team captains, etc are notable and citable but are not notable in the long term.

Please do not take this personally ..... I am only here to help. Please investigate this on your own. Don't forget to cite from reputable sources. Best of luck! LonelyBeacon (talk) 22:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
