Core city disambiguation page?[edit]

There should be a "core city" disambiguation page. In common usage, a core city is an older one, typically arising before the development of modern transportation, which now forms the center of a greater metropolitan area. This topic should be renamed "Core City (Japan)," or something similar.

Update map?[edit]

Is there a way to update the "File:Map of Japanese Designated cities, Core cities and Special cities.svg" to reflect Naha as a core city? Thanks Prburley (talk) 19:38, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Core city requirement re-modification[edit]

I was just wondering. Shouldn't the Japanese government plan to re-modify the core cities' requirements? Like for example, the population from 300,000 to at least a minimum of 200,000 or 250,000. And the area should be either limit-less or a minimum of 100 or 250 km² Lemme know your thoughts. jlog3000 (talk) 15:43, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Population Requirement[edit]

Four cities (Shimonoseki, Hakodate, Aomori, Morioka) have listed populations under 300,000, the nominal requirement for core city status. Is there any explanation for this? Are these simply waivers, or do they fulfill some alternate requirement? Korossyl (talk) 19:58, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
