Someone should document several points written about Ing. D'Ascanio, the Augusta helicopter, the Vespa and the Lambretta, all related to each other, but which I think they are not true.

I met D'ascanio and my brother worked with him. My brother has a file of notes written by D'Ascanio himself about the relevant projects and events he was involved between 1928 and 1980. From these it seems that several events do not match what is on Wiki. The two main discrepancies are:

That D'Ascanio "designed the first production helicopter, for Agusta". Although D'Ascanio had a connection with Augusta, this was much later, after 1978, when he used an Augusta motor for his new 2-seater helicopter designed for agricultural purposes.

The second is that D'Ascanio "designed the first motor scooter for Ferdinando Innocenti. After the two fell out, D'Ascanio helped Enrico Piaggio produce the original Vespa." D'ascanio never worked or contracted for Innocenti. He never had a relation with Innocenti. The history of the invention of the Vespa in 1946 is explained in my page: http://www.riverpool.com/dascanio.html half the way on the right. Innocenti copied the Vespa idea and created the Lambretta independently, about a year later.

The above page reports the history of the Vespa and some other D'Ascanio inventions as per D'Ascanio's notes (in addition to my brother and my recollection). Other minor discrepancies about the Vespa may also be corrected by looking at the above page. Gorig (talk) 04:34, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Under World War I, it reads "He caused 15,00 people to die because of one mistake made by him and his companion. He was hated by every survivor." I have no idea what this is in reference to and it seems like it was just added on by someone and does not explain what the mistake was. Any ideas? The previous poster's comments regarding D'Ascanio's relationship with Innocenti is very important; it needs to be remedied immediately.

Also; why is the picture of D'Ascanio a user generated (abstracted/subjective) image? I would think a photograph of this important figure is more apropos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.175.64.41 (talk) 09:39, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
