Title change[edit]

I recommend changing the title of this article to "Corrientes (province)", since the territory is named Corrientes, not Corrientes Province. The word "province" is just to distiguish it from the city. ironcito 19:03, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We've gone through this several times. The name of the Province is "Provincia de Corrientes". Al the Argentine provinces have the word "Provincia" in its official name (say, "Casa de la Provincia de Río Negro" instead of "Casa de Río Negro"). The Portal of the Río Negro Province refers to itself as Portal de la Provincia de Rio Negro. I used the Río Negro example because there's no city with that name. Good wiking! Guaraní[edit]

The Law 5598 reads:

And goes on. This is not an informal gesture to give Guaraní some importance that I might have before or not, its an official statement of Guaraní being an official language in the province.

As such, it should be included as an official language of the province, and nothing else. --Mariano(t/c) 19:09, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know it is. However, it states clearly hear Marianocecowski ""Artículo 1º.- ESTABLÉCESE el Guaraní Como idioma oficial alternativo de la Provincia de Corrientes.-"" This does not mean it is an offical language but rather it is treated as one. However it is Techinally not one and thats what I am trying point out. (XGustaX 22:03, 28 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]
First, you shouldn't have changed the existing text without settling the matter.
Second, como translates into English as as, thus "Establish Guaraní language as an alternative official language". Your reading is much personal; Here you have a couple of links clearly stating that the language is official: [1], [2], [3], [4].
Third, "like official" status doesn't mean what you are trying to significate.
Forth, you have being pushing your point of view in several articles ignoring the work and reasons of others, please try to be more constructive in your edits.
