Law
The local law should be discussed aswell. The fact that counterfeit products damages the sale rates of known brands is one thing, but there's also the issue that not working and even toxic counterfeit products causes the loss of thousands of lives. The law probably is partly to blame as:
- as it's allready illegal to make counterfeit products in the first place, the manufacturers of these products no longer need to worry that much whether it's safe for the consumer or not. If they get arrested at all, they'll probably allready go to jail, no matter whether it's safe for the consumer or not.
