Canada ending DAB service[edit]

Okay, so Canada is canning DAB service, so the map needs to be updated. I haven't the faintest idea how to do that. --Rhombus (talk) 07:35, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've just split this out from the DAB article. I know the article lead is crap, so please feel free to improve it! Oli Filth(talk) 12:48, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Western Canadian implementation[edit]

Several years ago, DAB was being marketed in Vancouver. The radio ads were terrible: Gilbert Gottfried (or somebody who sounded like him) was getting messages from God to buy a DAB receiver from Radio Shack. I was curious, so I went to Radio Shack, and found that the coverage in Greater Vancouver did not extend to my home, so I gave it a miss. It has been a long time since I have heard anything about DAB, so I don't even know if the broadcasts are even on the air. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronstew (talkcontribs) 00:11, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DAB in Taiwan?[edit]

I see Taiwan marked on the map of DAB countries, but no entry in the list. Does anyone know either way on Taiwan and DAB?--210.241.95.245 (talk) 05:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there no mention of DAB in the USA?[edit]

DMB in South Korea ?[edit]

Maybe I missed something, but from http://www.worlddab.org/country_information_/south_korea "As the first country to commercially launch mobile TV, South Korea is the most successful DMB market in the world. More than 23 million DMB enabled devices have been sold, of which the most popular are mobile phones. This number is expected to rise even more with an increase in coverage; services already cover over 75% of the country" --217.81.164.149 (talk) 12:08, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DAB in Finland[edit]

As it says in the article, Finland no longer uses DAB, there's alternative tech in use instead. So the country should be yellow on the map, right? If anyone knows how to fix this, please do so. I'll try and figure out how to do this myself, meanwhile, if there are any objections, do say so! Viipulavaapula (talk) 23:32, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Denmark closing down DAB[edit]

On the 1-December-2014 Denmark is going to close down it's DAB and moving to DAB+ only. Long term plan is to turn off FM radio by the year 2019 if possible. The official plans can be found here in Danish.

"Also more than 90% of the German population can listen to at least one digital radio ensemble."[edit]

missleading. It is only a small ratio of the German population actually able to listen to DAB, because virtually nobody has DAB receivers. This statement would be more correct: "Also more than 90% of the German population lives in areas where at least one digital radio ensemble can be received." Latvia starts testing DAB+[edit]

Latvian National Electronic Mass Media Council on November 17, 2016 announced that would start testing DAB+ radio. Australia[edit]

>> with listeners being able to receive over 380 DAB+ devices <<

What does this mean? Perhaps "able to choose from" rather than "receive" was meant? The phrase doesn't make a lot of sense as it stands (and the accompanying reference is dead). -- Picapica (talk) 18:42, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico: writing mistake[edit]

"Mexico had tested various radio problems in the 1990s" is surely not right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.41.131.59 (talk) 00:25, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

South Africa[edit]

Section is outdated. All trials have been concluded, there are no more trials planned.

There is now a policy in place, recommending DAB+. DRM30 and DRM+ as multistandard scenario for South Africa. Also draft regulations have been published by ICASA and thereafter were submissions and public hearings. The draft regulations followed the policy directive and final regulations are expected before end of the South African financial year 2020/2021. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qljo (talkcontribs) 07:48, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

United Kingdom: second list needs description[edit]

The list that starts

• Digital listening now 35.6%, up 14% year-on-year from 31.3%

... needs a description: is it a description of the current situation, and, if so, at what date?; or is it a list of targets to be met? If so, which body proposed the list?
