crock of shit[edit]

Took this out: - According to the Jargon File the use of the word crock for containers is connected to engineering jargon (see Crock) by the American scatologism "crock of shit" for extreme forms of what would otherwise be called bullshit. - Does it mean anything to anyone? Other than needing a source, I don't understand your objection. Are you not familiar with the use of the word "Crock" as slang? Eg. "This new product is a crock?" - N1h1l 15:14, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm familiar with the phrase. I'm less familiar with the word "crock" standing in for the phrase tho I accept that it can and I didn't mean someone to go to the trouble of citing it, so sorry about that. ( I'm more familiar btw with something being "crook" ie broken... ). Anyway the phrasing you've re-inserted, and the fact that it's under this heading, suggests that "use of crock for containers" has a significant connection to engineering. I don't think it does.

As I understand it: crock (dishware) -> crock of shit (expression) -> crock (expression) -> engineering / software slang. So shouldn't the jump to engineering come from the article Crock?

Actually looking at that article, it already does! So atm we have two crocks of shit! We have already had our crock of shit delivered and signed for. And, for my money, that's all the crocks of shit we need.
