Text removed[edit]

I have removed most of the paragraph:

  • The whole mine is largely shattered and not in particularly good condition. Chamber 1 East was possibly the biggest underground chamber in the slate industry, being several colossal chambers worked into one void – so big in fact the roof couldn’t support itself any longer and it collapsed. The top third of the chamber remains intact.

I have checked Moulding (2006). The first sentence is used to describe Rhosydd, not Croesor, and he states that most of Croesor, apart from Chamber 1 East, is in reasonable condition. The claim that it is "possibly the biggest underground chamber in the slate industry" is not verifiable, as Moulding is a mine explorer, rather than an expert on the slate industry, and so does not count as a WP:Reliable source for this type of information. I have also added {fact} templates and a {Manual | section} template to the final two paragraphs. They are unsourced, contain advice like "(but take your own anyway)", and statements like "the first pitch rope is worn to the core a few meters from the bottom", neither of which is encyclopedic. If they were sourced, I would rework them, but with no sources, it is difficult to know what to do. Bob1960evens (talk) 11:53, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Titling discussion[edit]

Wanted to notify users here that a discussion is taking place at Talk:Slate industry in Wales#Quarry or quarry? regarding the capitalisation of quarry articles' titles. (I am placing this notice on every page in Category:Slate mines in Wales). WT79 (speak to me | editing patterns | what I been doing) 12:48, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
