"Potential new station"[edit]

I just saw this section, not sure why this is relevant on this page apart from the close locality, I think it should be on the Merseyrail "Future Stations" section. The line/tunnel (Wapping) that has been quoted is NOT the tunnel that sits under the site (Victoria/Waterloo). Babydoll9799 (talk) 09:36, 29 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As per the article, the tunnel under the Crown Street site is indeed the Wapping tunnel as shown on p.36 of the recent Spacial Plan. There may be some confusion with the Paddington area which is the primary focus of the Plan.CastWider (talk) 23:12, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cavendish Cutting[edit]

Should this be Chatsworth or Chatsworth Street Cutting? This is the terminology used in the industrial archaeology conducted on the site which is cited in the report by Connolly https://www.escholar.manchester.ac.uk/uk-ac-man-scw:123553 CastWider (talk) 23:21, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Query about station sequence[edit]

As Crown Street was a terminus there should not be a preceding station, Park Lane running into first Edge Hill station rather than Crown Street. Given that second Edge Hill station opened as Crown Street closed to passengers, it would seem logical to cite the first Edge Hill station which is, of course, closed. "Next" and "Previous" are perhaps misleading. They're merely arbitrary terms for the two stations on either side. A common convention is that |next= (which displays on the right) is used for the adjacent station to the east or south, whereas |previous= (which displays on the left) is used for the adjacent station to the west or north. In this way it is a simple matter to follow a route, station article by station article, by keeping your mouse pointer towards the left or towards the right and clicking through to each adjacent one. This then means that of the two termini of a line, the westernmost one will lack a |previous= and so display Terminus in its left-hand column; and the easternmost one will lack a |next= and so display Terminus in its right-hand column. --Redrose64 (talk) 23:59, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

John Cunningham[edit]

I see that this has been added to the category John Cunningham Railway Stations. While it is plausible that Cunningham did work at Crown Street when it was a goods and maintenance yard, it seems unlikely that he designed the first Crown Street station given that he was based in Scotland at the time. This needs to be clarified. CastWider (talk) 09:55, 23 December 2016 (UTC) Crown Street station is not listed among his known works so I have removed the attribution from the article[reply]
