Publication Date[edit]

The article needs to clearly state the year in which this game was (first) published. It is insufficient to just state it by putting the game in the "2004 computer games" category. --Peter Knutsen 17:00, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unplayable[edit]

The fact that this game is unplayable for most of the people that own it should be taken into consideration, and detailed sequentially in a proper & respectful manner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.180.55.81 (talk) 23:13, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unplayable? I've run it on three different computers without ever any issues. 67.151.56.38 (talk) 07:19, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've also run it on around eight computers with no problems. Assuming 76.180 (If that is his real name) was serious, he probably didn't bother to go to the company site to get his copy patched. By 2008, all new copies should have been, though, so quite possibly he was simply trolling.
Assuming good faith, if he wasn't discussing stability but gameplay issues, he's probably still just missing a patch. CK can be memory intensive (even for an older game) by the endgame because of the huge amount of individual characters who are born, but the old 'Sheikhdom of Prague' problem was resolved by 1.05, DV includes a bride finder in the game ledger, and a dynastic (instead of personal) scoring system is available at the company forum in the CK modding section. -LlywelynII (talk) 04:16, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, removed "On release there were many problems...due to...crashing with no obvious cause, although a beta patch helped alleviate some of the problems" from article as unsourced & factually inaccurate to the point of bias: the patches are nonbeta and stable, the few previous CTD issues were not random and are listed in the patch history, and they were swiftly addressed. The real problem was a relationship bug that caused vassals to pledge to lords across Europe from them, but that's since been addressed as well. -LlywelynII (talk) 04:27, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On review, looks like it was a good-faith edit by User:Tombomp expressing his own frustration, but remains rather inaccurate. -LlywelynII (talk) 04:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Two of the external links are dead. I'm moving them here in case someone knows or wants to find out if they can be found somewhere else:
