Reception / Rotten Tomatoes[edit]

The reception section's original phrasing mentions the reviews of this movie (released in 1983) and its Rotten Tomatoes score in the same breath, which is unnecessarily ambiguous. The website didn't come into existence until some 15 years after the movie's release, and (presumably) 15 years after the bulk of its reviews were written. At the very least, a few words could be spared to indicate that its Rotten Tomatoes score was not even vaguely contemporaneous with its release.

Thank you for your unconstructive revert, however. I'm sure your efforts are appreciated.

Having laughed my head off at the sight of a car disintegrating under the vicious assault of a large dog, I have to confess that the Rotten Tomatoes review is very helpful for putting this awful movie into perspective. it was shot up on the Mendocino Coast (Mendocino, Mendo Co, CA, USA)...exactly where, i dont know. Dee Wallace and Chris Stone were shooting 'the Howling' same time or just prior; same area, location. 76.218.248.127 (talk) 18:00, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Though Warner Bros. originally distributed the film theatrically, and for a time, held original home video rights, the main rights actually originally stood with the producing company, Taft Entertainment (under copyright holder Sunn Classic Pictures). Taft's productions were distributed on TV and home video by its subsidiary, Worldvision Enterprises. In 1988, Worldvision was sold to Spelling Entertainment Group. Spelling Entertainment folded Worldvision's output into the Republic Pictures library in 1997 (three years after Spelling bought Republic).

Finally in 1999, Viacom (parent company of Paramount Pictures since 1994) bought Republic/Spelling Entertainment. Therefore, Paramount/Viacom (via Republic) now owns the theatrical rights to Cujo while Trifecta Entertainment & Media (which handles the television side of the Republic theatrical holdings) syndicates for television, and Lionsgate (after consuming Artisan Entertainment, which originally distributed the Republic Pictures library on home video due to a deal with Viacom) distributes the movie on home video.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment owns home video rights for Cujo in the United Kingdom while Paramount Home Entertainment owns home video rights in France and Region 4.

Frank Welker[edit]

On the page it says that 'Frank Welker was credited for vocal effects of Cujo"

Credited where and by who? I know he is known for doing tons of animal effects etc but I just watched the ending credits and they do not credit Welker anywhere. A source should be included or cited for this statement if it remains on the page.
