Speedy deletion[edit]

Dalton Trevisan is an important Brazilian writer, and he should not be removed from Wikipedia (in which, on the other hand, irrelevant authors, and even non-writers, are profusely listed as "Brazilian Writers").

That the article needs expanding, it goes without saying. But deleting it is comparable to deleting Robert Frost. Ninguém (talk) 18:49, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is not comparable at all. As you can see, the Robert Frost article is properly sourced and establishes notability as per BIO. This article, so far, does not have anything of the kind. In order to have the article stay you have to assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 21:08, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In which case we would have to delete dozens of Wikipedia articles. The point is not whether the article is up to its subject, but whether the subject is worthy of an article. Ninguém (talk) 18:49, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article rating[edit]

I also disagree with rating this article of "low importance". Do the people who put this label in it at least have some knowledge of Brazilian literature, that they can rate what is important and what is not? Ninguém (talk) 18:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "low importance" rating. Absurd has limits. Ninguém (talk) 18:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, when I put those templates in, I left the ratings that were already there from the article I copied them from. They should be left blank until someone from WikiProject Brazil reviews the article and makes a determination. Please do not remove that template; it alerts people who are part of that project that this article needs attention.  Frank  |  talk  16:44, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you; sorry if it came out somewhat aggressive - this article seems to be cursed from the start. Ninguém (talk) 18:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
