Proposed deletion[edit]

The proposed deletion discussion states, "Article does not assert notability. Making youtube videos is not worthy of note..." The subject has not just "made YouTube videos." He has also gotten a huge number of viewers, earned a lot money from it, and been covered by multiple reliable sources. The subject is notable. Also, deletion discussions are supposed to last for a week, but this discussion was closed after less than one hour. Grundle2600 (talk) 19:42, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion was closed because the nominator, me, agreed to a redirect. There is nothing suspect going on. Darrenhusted (talk) 22:52, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Multiple editors, including myself, contributed substantially to this article. Before you redirect it, and eliminate all that work that was put into the article, please wait a week to get a consensus. Grundle2600 (talk) 01:28, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Every single registered editors on Wikipedia could contribute to the article, if the subject lack notability then I will cycle through the deletion cycle (redirect-PROD-AfD) because making an article look like the subject is notable is not making the subject notable. And read this. Darrenhusted (talk) 09:31, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dan Brown is the founder of Pogopalooza, which he founded at age 14. Referenced from one of his videos, the event first took place in his town of residence, Lincoln, Nebraska. Picture[edit]

There needs to be a picture for Dan. I'd do it myself, but I can never get the copyright/licensing right. Thanks to anyone who does this for me. --Kris18 (talk) 20:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Grundle2600 (talk) 23:48, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I looked for pictures of Dan on flicker and found one that his girlfriend took with a CC-BY license so i added that to the commons and this page. This is the one where Dan is swinging and it might not be the best bio picture but it can serve until a more suitable one is found. IEchuu (talk) 17:17, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

I have reverted the addition for a reference to Twitter about him appearing on Who Want to be a Millionaire. Twitter is not a reliable source to base information off of. Kyle1278 23:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Religious Beliefs[edit]

In this video Dan mentions that he believes in a creator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATFBLws_bPA Perhaps the the section of "Personal life" that say's he's agnostic should be changed to deist?75.72.108.36 (talk) 20:26, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar lesson[edit]

Direct speech: He said "I love you."
In direct speech: He said he loved her.
This is not necessary: He said "[he] loved [her]"

An image used in this article, File:Pogobat-258x300.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

What should I do?

Don't panic; a discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion, although please review Commons guidelines before doing so.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.

Page Vandalism?[edit]

What happened to this article? It used to be much larger last time I saw it around last year. Now, it's not even a paragraph. I'm thinking we should revert it back to one of its previous edits because the way the article looks now, it's begging to be deleted since it's only 2-3 sentences long. The old edits had paragraphs and paragraphs of notable and valuable information pertaining to Dan Brown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark0528 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • What happened? People have battled over the article if you look through the history, and some pared it down severely. Then it went through a deletion discussion, but was not deleted. Consider going through the history and restoring content (with sources please!) that you think belongs.--Milowenthasspoken 18:57, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
