Farsi spelling of Daniel Arzani[edit]

@Pahlevun: Hi, I understand your discussion in edit summary. However, the single source you have provided is not reliable. I have added 4 Iranian (Farsi language) official sources (sport reporting media from I R R Iran TV and newspaper) links with correct Farsi language spelling. The previous link you have removed was right pronunciation of his name in an interview with him. Referring to that pronunciation, your suggested spelling for Daniel (دانیال) is completely wrong. As you can see and listen here the English spelling is d A n i E l (دَنیل). The letter E here as pronounced in English is not equal to d A n i A l (دانیال). The letter A after d is pronounced as pronounced in DAD (\ˈdad \) so again it is not as pronounced in PARK (\ ˈpärk \) so your suggestion (دا) is not correct. I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for your time reading this. Gharouni Talk 04:33, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gharouni: You are omitting to acknowledge that someone who was born in Iran (and a neutralized citizen of Austrailia) does own a Shenasnameh issued by Sabt-e-Ahval and the organization simply does register names in Persian, not English. And the name is written as such in Persian. And since Template:Persian is for Persian (not english), you write in Persian. It does not matter how he pronounces his own name, or how this name is pronounced in English, at all. And for your information, there are tons of sources that do not hastily write in English, including YJC.ir and varzesh3.com that you have used. Pahlevun (talk) 18:58, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Pahlevun: Hi. Thanks for your message. However, unfortunately we do not have access to his birth certificate or other IDs (Shenasnameh or Iranian Passport etc.) even if we had, to use them wasn't moral except it was allowed. All name scripts written in the media (what you suggest or what I suggest) is based on commonsense because no one has access to his Iranian official birth certificate etc. The way you push your Idea is not accepted in wikipedia. It was expected this discussion to come to an end by us or maybe requesting a third party or sometimes higher rank users to help us to make the right decision. But you just have reverted last edits. I have added the other script because it exists and used worldwide even in Iran and we can not deny this. Readers of this article have the right to access the right information referred to by valid and reliable sources we use to create articles. Thank you for your interest to talk about the matter. Users of higher ranks? This is Wikipedia, not the military. You clearly have misunderstood my point, so let me get straight to it: "دَنیل" is a transliteration, while Template:lang-fa is not intended for such use, but "indicates to readers the original form of a term or phrase in Persian". That's all. And this is not a matter of POV, the MOS dictates using the template for the original form in the language. Pahlevun (talk) 18:00, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry that you are not patient enough up until we agree for a solution. You know I am talking about admins and more experienced users and you just revert my edits. I refer you to [[Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point|Wikipedia:POINT] and to request third opinion if you still disagree. Gharouni Talk 02:06, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
