Untitled[edit]

Daniel Brodhead I (? - 1670), who was a native of Yorkshire, England, was a captain in the service of King Charles II. He was the great-grandfather of General Daniel Brodhead, a famed Revolutionary War hero.

In September 1664, Brodhead accompanied the expedition which, under command of Colonel Richard Nicolls, took possession of New York (then New Amsterdam). After the surrender of the city he was sent to Albany, and was one of the witnesses to the treaty there made with the Indians in the same month.

The following year he was appointed by Governor Nicolls to the chief command of the militia at Esopus (now Kingston), Ulster County, his commission bearing the date of September 16, 1665. He settled in Ulster County with his wife, Ann Tye, and children, Charles, Daniel and Richard, and died there in 1670.

Yet Another Question About Birth.[edit]

I am singularly obsessed with the subject of where people were born. The reference I have indicates that Daniel Brodhead was born in Albany, New York. Any idea how to reconcile the difference? Badbilltucker 18:17, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split into two articles[edit]

Currently this article is about two people, a father and a son. I think they should be split into two articles, but I'm not sure how that's done according to policy. - Millionwampumbaby (talk) 13:48, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone going to weigh in? I guess I'm the only one looking into this. - Millionwampumbaby (talk) 20:57, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
