Clarification[edit]

To clarify, what I okayed was that this article is substantially enough different from the previous article that it should not be speedy deleted as a recreation of deleted content. Making the argument that Daniel Ross is notable[edit]

Sorry for not being clearer, ESkog.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to write about this, but I wanted to just make a preemptive argument for Daniel Ross's notability in case it gets attacked again.

Wikipedia lists the following 3 tests for notability for an entertainer:

Entertainers: actors, comedians, opinion makers, and television personalities 1. With significant roles in notable films, television, stage performances, and other productions. 2. Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following. 3. Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment. According to the article, "A person is notable if they meet ANY of the [preceding] standards" (emphasis added.)

To start with, under the first test, Daniel Ross has had a significant role in a notable "other production". Daniel Ross plays one of the main villain characters in the upcoming Transformers video games. The character he plays, Starscream, is one of the most famous Transformers characters, ranked with Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave as far as name recognition goes. Therefore, it is a significant role. As for whether the video games are notable, they are being released by well known video game company Activision in conjunction with the release of the multi-million dollar blockbuster film this summer. Therefore, the video game is notable. Because Daniel Ross plays a significant role in the video game, and because the video game itself is notable, Daniel Ross is notable.

Even if he didn't pass the first test for notability of an entertainer, he would still pass the second test, because he has a significant "cult" following. Among Transformers fans, Daniel Ross is well known, whether the individual fans hate him or love him. For example, these message board threads contain discussion of peoples' reactions to his playing Starscream in the Transformers video game: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=133040 http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29372 The posts made by the Transformers fans on those threads demonstrate that they are familiar with Daniel Ross. He's played voices in numerous fan Transformers videos. He is also the official voice of a couple Transformers characters at the official Transformers fan conventions, where voice actors and a VERY limited number of fans (I think only 2 or 3) do script readings for the attendees. Therefore, Daniel Ross has a significant "cult" following among Transformers fans, and he is notable, inter alia, for that reason.
