Correction needed[edit]

I saw below comments on Darbar movie page....and I not sure how someone can write such a comment, request the person to be responsible while writing as wiki is source for many people

”The movie opened to Negative Reviews and the biggest failure of Rajinikanth and AR Murugadoss carrier.“ Manisuresh82 (talk) 14:43, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Of course correction needed, Movie actually opened to positive reviews.. Naveenplpm (talk) 15:34, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The editor who submitted it has reverted it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:22, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Again someone edited as negative reviews, actually the film opened to positive reviews

Someone is doing it to degrade the film, please take necessary action Naveenplpm (talk) 15:34, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Naveenplpm: I've removed the problematic content as it was based on a single cherrypicked review. However, I will not be adding your opinion that the film opened to positive reviews, as that has not been properly sourced either, and it seems a bit dubious based on some of the reviews I've seen. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:44, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please make the corrections of box office collection. darbar movie production house (Lyca production) officially announced ]n twitter account that the darbar movie had collected 150 crores in 4 days of its release date and still the movie is running successfully everywhere but why box office collection is updated as 200 crore . As per https://www.seelatest.com/tamil/darbar-box-office-collection-day-14 total collection is Rs.228 crore for 14 Days, so please do the changes

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. See latest does not appear to be one of the sources for box office figures considered reliable by the Indian cinema task force (scroll down). Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:27, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As per https://www.sacnilk.com/articles/entertainment/box_office/Darbar_Box_Office_Collection__All_Language_Worldwide?hl=en Darbar collection is 244 cr — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arulnithyaj (talkcontribs) 16:30, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Arulnithyaj: We don't use random websites that people find as references. "Sacnilk", whatever that is, is not a know, major, mainstream source with an established reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. You do know that anybody can create a website and publish whatever they want, right? Stick to sources you might find WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources. Add Darbar Pre-Release Business - Darbar made Rs 239 crore from the sale of theatrical rights and the digital and satellite rights along with other rights even before its release. And box report For Darbar box office collection https://www.sacnilk.com/articles/entertainment/box_office/Darbar_Box_Office_Collection__All_Language_Worldwide?hl=en

one of the official movie box office trackers in india and provide almost approx Box Office report. According them #Darbar done break even and now profit state in Tamil Nadu, karnataka, kerala. for #Darbar 18th day box office Guru ark (talk) 20:14, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Guru ark, sacnilk.com is not a reliable source by Wikipedia standards. You'll need to provide the links for the other sources. Ravensfire (talk) 23:19, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Guru ark: Just as I would recommend not taking medical advice from random websites you find, I also would advise against swallowing box office figures simply because a random website publishes a higher one. Sacnilk.com is a faceless entity that solicits guest posts as a way to increase traffic to other websites. Stick to major mainstream sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources if you're not sure what would qualify or not. Chances are, if you've never heard of it, you shouldn't use it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:31, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Page has been re-protected. Insufficient reference. We don't care what random blogs report. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for a short list of good and bad sites to use. Just because you find a higher figure on the internet doesn't mean that the higher number is more accurate. Anybody can start a website and publish whatever they want. We only care what major sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:19, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Negative?[edit]

@1222000e: re: this, I don't get where your "negative" summary of critical response is coming from when the cited source says "mixed" fairly unambiguously. "Rajinikanth’s Darbar has done well and his son-in-law Dhanush’s Pattas did decent business at the Tamil Nadu box-office. Both films got mixed reviews from critics and fans, but enjoyed a dream run during the five-day Pongal holiday weekend." Care to explain? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:20, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Every one of us grew up with [Mr. Rajini] and even professionally, he just has a different vibe. Whenever you see Rajini on-screen doesn't it remind you of your childhood? I made this movie and wrote the script as a fan, how I enjoyed him on-screen. I didn't put the same sequences but with an updated concept. He plays a heroic cop from Mumbai. We even have a similar sequence in the film like the one that took place in the recent Hyderabad vet rape case. I had written a similar sequence in the film where the criminal is punished in the same place he committed the crime. We were surprised to see something like that happen in reality.
