For the attention of the person deleting categories[edit]

RE: your edit here

Two points:

1. Please don't remove Living people, it is not a "junk category" as you have asserted.

2. Please don't remove Louisvillians just because it's a parent category of Louisville Cardinals men's basketball players. They're distinct because:

People who played with the Louisville Cardinals are not necessarily from Louisville, Kentucky, e.g. Rodney McCray.
People from Louisville, Kentucky have not necessarily played with the Louisville Cardinals, e.g. Thomas Edison.

Thank you.

Thanks for the stern warning. I found out I was incorrect on #1 very quickly this past spring (and thus I apologize), but I maintain correctness on #2. Categorization using a parent and child category is, in most cases, incorrect. In this case, Griffith is notable as a Louisvillian *because* of his association with the Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team. —  Stevie is the man!  Talk | Work 18:34, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Post-basketball career[edit]

When cleaning up Griffith's article today, I realized it was missing some content like when was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame (had an infobox entry only), when he was a university ambassador in recent years, and when he was associated with Griff's sports bar/restaurant. I've added a bit for the first two, and need to add Griff's. Also, might there be other post-basketball career things to talk about? Stefen Towers among the rest!
