Falcon 30[edit]

The sole Falcon 30 30-seat aircraft, intended for airline use

This item in the list links to Falcon 20, I've never heard of a Falcon 30 and I've flown every model from the 10 to the 7X. I think it should be removed. Avi8tor (talk) 14:42, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, they only made one. But since it did exist, we should keep the link, and it is mentioned (very briefly) in the Falcon 20 article. BilCat (talk) 19:52, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
French Wikipedia has an article on it at fr:Dassault Falcon 30. BilCat (talk) 00:24, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is this page on Dassault's website on the Falcon 30, which looks fairly detailed, and a five page article in the March 2008 issue of the French aviation magazine Le Fana de l'Aviation. The entry in the 74–75 Jane's is about a page - so again decent coverage - I think that a viable article could be produced for the Falcon 30/Mystére 40 (the same aircraft but cramming in 40 passengers and operating over shorter stages). In the meantime it seems sensible to keep the link (and perhaps expand the coverage in the Falcon 20 article so that the link makes more sense).Nigel Ish (talk) 09:07, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bilcat asked me if fr:Dassault Falcon 30 had enough cited content to add to en:Dassault Falcon 20. As is often the case on wikipedia fr, the references are quite poorly used and it should be better to start from scratch, from the Dassault and Jane's refs above. Le Fana de l'Aviation is OK (but the similar air-fan.fr is better!). The Falcon 20 section could be expended before a separate article could be split. Air Fan appears to me to be more dedicated to Military aircraft, so might not be too useful in this case - this is another case where we really miss the Flight International and Aviation Week archives no longer being available.Nigel Ish (talk) 15:32, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've created a draft at User:Nigel Ish/Sandbox Dassault Falcon 30 - now I just need someone with appropriate move rights to move it over the redirect.Nigel Ish (talk) 17:50, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Now live at Dassault Falcon 30.Nigel Ish (talk) 18:07, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Nigel! Looks good. And thanks to User:Avi8tor (seriously) for making the post that got this all started. This is what collaboration on Wikipedia is all about. It's an interesting what-might-have-been, but apparently too ahead of its time. BilCat (talk) 18:45, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Very good work all of you, I had no idea this aircraft even existed. I've got a History of Dassault book somewhere but it's packed away while I renovate. Avi8tor (talk) 06:26, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
