Hi all, I disclose that I have a conflict of interest with Adjaye Associates and would like to suggest the following changes to the article to represent recent changes more accurately:
1. In the second paragraph of the Controversies section, the first sentence is not accurate; this was a rumoured reduction of staff which apparently occurred in the London office of Adjaye Associates, not across the business as a whole. The Architects' Journal article, which is the current supporting citation for this claim, confirms all of these points. The corrected sentence could read:
- "Following the allegations and clients withdrawing projects from Adjaye's practice, the business was reported to have begun a redundancy programme, with unnamed sources suggesting it was shedding up to half of its staff in its London office. This was not confirmed by the firm."
2. In the same paragraph, the workplace culture claims are all attributed to former employees rather than current, which the same Architects' Journal article confirms. Could this be reflected in the following sentence, rewritten as:
- "Former employees also complained of a 'toxic' workplace culture at the practice."
3. I propose moving the third sentence of this paragraph, referencing the appointment of three new CEOs to the "Firm Operations" section, as this is a business operations update. At present the wording also omits how Adjaye's role has changed. This sentence could be rewritten as:
- "In March 2024, the practice announced the appointment of three new CEOs, Lucy Tilley, Pascale Sablan and Kofi Bio, to lead each of the Adjaye Associates' three global studios in London, New York, and Accra. Adjaye was named the Executive Chair of the Group and remains as principal architect of the firm leading design direction."
The following sources corroborate this:
- https://www.dezeen.com/2024/03/18/adjaye-associates-restructure-ceos/
@Paul W, you previously advised using the Talk page to discuss these updates, so your input would be appreciated. I’m happy to provide any context, answer any questions you have, and to take on board any suggestions to ensure these additions meet Wikipedia guidelines on neutral point of view, sourcing etc.
Many thanks for considering these changes! Mewedmuse (talk) 08:38, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
